Silicone free deep conditioning hair mask recommendations please!

I am now using silicone free shampoo and have broken the "needing to wash hair everyday" cycle thanks to recommendations on this forum.

However I would now like to deep condition my hair once a week as I am no longer using a daily conditioner.

Years and years ago I loved The Body Shops Banana Putty which came in a tub but was discontinued.

Do any of you delightful S and B experts have any recommendations? I want to avoid and with silicone in which will make my hair lanky the next day.

Thanking you in advance.

My hair dresser told me to put oil on it - a fine grade olive oil or a facial oil. Be careful about how much you use and avoid all of the roots.

I left it on Sunday night for an hour or so and it;s much shinier, less brittle and a lot more silky. I might try it once a week if i have time.

He only told me this after I declined buying a £15 deep conditioning treatment from the salon. Quite a small bottle too.

Body Shop Rainforest Hair butter?

No silicones and comes in a small size too if you want to try it out.

Oil is great, I use coconut because it's always around. Otherwise there are lots of recipes online for natural hair masks using avocados, eggs etc, you get some really good results and they cost next to nothing.

Ooh Moo that looks interesting.

Coconut oil is fab. I smooth a small amount through hair, avoiding roots, then twist up and sleep on it. To wash out I applied shampoo to dry hair with a teeny bit of water and then lathered up, it works really well.

Egg, honey and olive oil is fantastic. Cant remember the measures but google a recipe online. It made my hair feel and look great!

Oh I fancy the look of that body shop one.

Both coconut oil ( on dry hair a while before washing) and bodyshop rainforest hair butter work wonders on DDs curly hair.

Lush Jasmine and Henna Fluff-Ease is great, I use it most weekends, hair feels nice and silky afterwards. Very strongly fragrqnced though.

You can't go wrong with anything from a salon, try the matrix biolage range,I swear by them. Being a hairdresser myself,I know that anything you can buy in the shops is made with similar soap that you would wash your hands with, most of the say "silicone free" but really aren't. Also make sure you are using ten pence piece sizes as using too much product can make your hair dull too. X
