Dress alterations

Hi all,

I wonder if anyone has any experience of dress alterations? I've got two dresses that I love but sadly they no longer fit. I'd love to get them altered and made bigger to fit, but I'm not sure how easy that would be. One is a joules strapless dress in pinstripe blue with a coral zip. I think if I got some coral fabric it could be altered at the seams without looking too silly.

Has anyone else done this?

I'm on the app and it won't let me add photos. Hmm Dress has 5 seam lines going around the back on the bodice, plus 2 at the front. The skirt is quite full so I'm wondering if I could get away with just altering the bodice part. Perhaps I need to take it to a seamstress!

Ps zip is at the back and I can't find anything like this dress- I've searched high and low. I can't even find a link to it on the internet to show you. Thanks though.

It's not difficult to make dresses smaller, but it's very hard to make them bigger - I would have thought additional fabric in blue might work better than coral because it will be less noticeable.

Grin @ bush!!!

Thanks for your help. Makes sense about the skirt- obvious when you think about it!

I'll take it to a dressmaker and see what they think. It's probably easier to loose weight Confused
