Rosacea?

I think I have quite bad rosacea.

I have always had uneven, blotchy skin with freckles and redness on the cheeks...I don't look fresh faced without make up, just look sunburnt. I will always be told by at least one person that I look drained or worn if I am barefaced Hmm

I cover up the red cheeks with Bare Minerals bisque which works quite well. I have been ill for the last couple of days so have not bothered with make up. I properly looked in the mirror for the first time in ages rather than just automatically start putting make up on and the redness is so much worse. All across both cheeks and now my nose too Sad My cheeks do sting sometimes and my eyes are sore a lot. I read that they can be symptoms.

I want something to treat it rather than just cover it, but I am at the doctors ALL the fecking time for my ongoing chronic condition and one of the DC. I would really rather not go and moan about red cheeks Blush quite literally!

Can anyone recommend any cream or treatments I can try before I go to the GP? I will go if I have to but would so much prefer not.

They will take you seriously so do go.

I have found cutting out as much sugar as possible, using micellar water to remove make up and a combination of Aldi restorative creams and Eucerin which is very soothing really helps.

I was about to recommend Bisque but you already use it. Do you use the BM foundation as well, I have recently switched to Revlon Colourstay and found it much better and I think the BM was irritating my skin ever further tbh.

Dermalex, you can buy it in Boots. It's not got any antibiotics in it. Some people have to be careful with oil based products, but not all.

Dermalex was just an expensive moisturiser ime, did nothing.

I do use the BM foundation and hadn't considered it might be irritating it more. Arghh I hate having to change make up I worry it will be an expensive mistake.

I have rosacea. I paid to have a private consultation with a dermatologist (about 50 iirc). She recommended Aveeno products and also put me on a 3 month course of antibiotics which helped a lot.

Alcohol makes mine flare up (boo).

I hadn't heard that about sugar Dame........that's interesting.

Dh has this and he puts oil on his skin which he says has reduced the frequency and severity of outbreaks, so he doesn't need antibiotics as much.
