Any AHA/BHA cream recommendations please?

I have 'awkward bugger' skin type - sensitive, dehydrated, early signs of wrinkles plus oily t zone and hormonal chin acne handily triggered by endometriosis.

Generally I stick to gentle natural products with no SLS, parabens etc.

I get severe breakouts every now and then (hormone-related) and am wondering if what I really need is some AHA/BHA action.

My skin responds really well to salicylic acid (which I now realise is BHA) and I've never used glycols apart from a Ren glycolic mask.

Can anyone recommend a gel or cream I could use maybe at night to try to help my skin renew itself and maybe to reduce the nasty scars left by some recent acne?

I'm considering the Avene range or possibly the Effeclar Duo.

Anything else I could consider?

You could have a look at the Alpha-H range on the QVC site. I've used their Liquid Gold with no probs. And with QVC you have a 30 day no quibble returns policy, even for used products.

Thanks - I remember a friend saying she was trying that.

Avene was on 3 for 2 at Boots so I'm trying the Cleanance range but it may be insufficiently moisturising for my drier areas.

Palmers skin soothing cream has aha in it, it's technically a body moisturiser but my face loves it. £4 ish from boots or superdrug. The MakeUpAlley reviews convinced me!

Ooh I might take a look. Seems cheap!

This is very good - one of the few products I've actually repurchased when it ran out. Contains glycolic acid, lactic acid and salicylic acid but doesn't sting and is moisturising.

I like the Alpha Hydrox 12% AHA soufflé. Cheap, effective and fine on my sensitive skin.

seconding dannydevito's recommendation. also probably the ONLY face cream ive ever bought twice

Thanks for the suggestions - perhaps I can work up to those from the Avene as they seem much stronger.

I live in hope that the recent acne scars will fade.
