Fake tan and beautician refusing to do a facial anyone know why?

God I'm gutted. I have a fake tan that is weeks old and looks awful it is nowhere near my face or chest. I just went to a new salon and she was fine until I took my top off and she practically threw me out of the room. I kep telling her is was tan and she knows that bit she kept saying "not allowed" with no further explanation. Does anyone know the reason why?

You need to go back and ask or a ful explanation from the manager. That is really bad treatment!

minniem · 30/04/2014 16:47

Fake tan does not last weeks, week at most. Perhaps because you hadn't exfoliated prior, the new fake tan would end up looking a mess?

Lighthousekeeping · 30/04/2014 16:49

I'm ansolutely seething. I bet it was because she wanted to
Go home on time. I'm having a coffee and then I'm going back to get their email address.

Why couldn't you press her for a brief explanation?

Lighthousekeeping · 30/04/2014 16:50

Oh please. The tan is fine. And it always lasts well on my skin. There's just patches left. It's not a disease.

Language barrier.

She kept shrugging her shoulders and I didn't want an argument infront of everyone.

Er, well prepared skin and properly applied tan can last weeks! Even my cheapo foam can take 2 weeks to disappear from my legs.

Lighthousekeeping · 30/04/2014 16:56

Thank you. I got it done in another salon and paid for the bloody exfoliation so it cost a bomb. I'm glad it's lasted I'm experimenting for a wedding.

Why did you take your top off if she was doing a facial?

YoureBeingASillyBilly · 30/04/2014 16:57
Hmm

You take your top and bra off for a facial in a salon because the facial includes a neck and shoulder massage. It's standard practise and has been for a gazillion years.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 30/04/2014 16:59

Why the Hmm? I have never had a facial and it was not obvious to me why you would be required to move your clothing. I now know to avoid for the future.

Lighthousekeeping · 30/04/2014 17:01

Well if I never took my top of it wouldn't be a proper facial in my eyes. I'm off back there now.

The Hmm

Was for all this questioning and doubting of OP.
Doubting her tan was still there, questioning her taking her top off. I know there have been a few trolly types lately but this really isnt that hard to believe is it?

minniem · 30/04/2014 17:08

Sorry, I misread your post. I thought you meant facial inc fake tan..

I've no idea why they wouldn't , possibly got freaked by the sight of your boobs Grin

Lighthousekeeping · 30/04/2014 17:25

Well, we'll see what the manager replies.

Perhaps she thought the patchy fake tan was Vitiligo? (Although it's not infectious so that's not a reason for throwing you out...)

Lighthousekeeping · 30/04/2014 17:53

No she knew it was tan I have no idea why she asked me how long ago I'd had it done

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 30/04/2014 18:00

Maybe she was worried about facial chemicals reacting with fake tan chemicals and turning you green or something?

Lighthousekeeping · 30/04/2014 18:01

Maybe I'm going to ask my friend when she gets home from work tonight. She teaches it do should know.
