Where do you shop if you are short and curvy?

I'm 5'0, size 12/14 and have 32H boobs!

It seems that most manufacturers producing petite ranges assume that those of us who are short are also flat, so the chest measurements are reduced as well as the lengths.

I can normally find trousers in a short fitting and size up on top, but occasionally it would be nice to get a dress to fit nicely all over. Pepperberry are great for the top half, but can end up too long on dresses.

Am I doomed to a life of separates? Have I discovered a gap in the marketplace that will make me millions?

If you need a work dress can I highly recommend this M&S one? I'm 5' 2 and a size 10/12, 32E and had to size down to an 8 which fits v snugly, but the 10 was far too big. Have had lots of compliments on it.

Otherwise, if you're feeling rich, Vivienne Westwood is the way forward!

Most people moan that Pepperberry are too short! I am 5 foot 3 and find the length good (just their range limited to too many sleeveless or polyester). Their viscose type dresses are very easy to take up, could you learn how to sew a hem?
I normally find a couple of Boden dresses are good for large of norm each season, the Grace dress is amazing this season, it comes in petite but limited in size and colour now.

nork not norm!!

Thanks both. Dolly, the trouble I find with the Boden petite stuff is they are also designed for a petite chest. I'll have a look though, as it might work with some of the more forgiving materials. Will have another go with Pepperberry, maybe. Perhaps I was unlucky!

Remus, thanks! Fortunately, I don't need work stuff (work from home) so am just looking for frivoulous pretty summer dresses for the sake of it! Sadly, I'm not quite at a Vivienne Westwood level of frivolous!

I got a nice curvy red spotty dress from Dorothy Perkins last summer.
Fits me well and I'm 5'0" size 6-8 with an hourglass figure.

I agree Contraryish that Boden don't design for boobs, but there are normally one or 2 that can work. Someone on here once said that they phone Boden and ask which ones are generous in the bust and have received help in that department. I just spend hours reading the reviews, and if lots of people say that its massive in the chest, I know it may work for me!

I just went to check my wardrobe, I have about 10+ pepper berry dresses, 6 Boden, and one from Next, M&S and Coast. (I am a K cup). I only wear dresses or skirts, so always on the lookout. I haven't found many. Have you looked at Biubiu? I have seen some bloggers reviewing their dresses that look nice (but normally sold out at that point).

I hope you get some more mn help, I too would like some pointers!

Made In Preston sell curvy clothes, and reviews tend to suggest they're cut for shorties! Bit pricey, though there are often discounts if you time it right.

Gap is good. Do you need a petite top? I buy short trousers but normal tops.
Don't try oasis - my 34b chest is too big for lots of their clothes!

Contraryish · 01/05/2014 08:41

Thanks all, am researching frenziedly as we speak!
