How long do you take to get ready?

From stepping into the shower to ready to walk out of the door. Not including eating, sorting kids etc. Just wondering if I'm as bad as dp reckons. And if anyone can do it in less than 30 mins please tell me how!

Um, around half an hour to an hour depending on what I'm doing with my hair. That includes showering, sorting hair, getting dressed, applying make up and sorting bag. The more complex my hair do (well complex for me) the closer to an hour it is. It helps that I decide on and lay out my clothes in advance as well as choose shoes and bags at the same time. It's usually closer to half an hour than an hour as my hair dries really quickly even without a hairdryer so if I'm wearing it loose, I just brush and leave it wet as by the time I get to my destination, it's dry.

It depends if you count the time it takes my hair to dry enough to plait/tie back as that happens passively while I am sorting out the children and having breakfast. Otherwise it takes me about 7 mins to shower, 2 mins to dress 3 mins to brush teeth and anything from 30 seconds (just tinted moisturiser/sunblock) to 5 mins (full face) to put make up on.

It takes me 1 hr to get ready in the morning. End of.

From sleeping to walking out of door. Regardless of whether I am getting 1,2 or 0 children ready ConfusedGrin

15-20 minutes max

Shower
Brush teeth whilst hair is wrapped in towel so It's towel dry
Run brush through hair
Quickly apply hair mouse
Dress
Shoes on
Out

I don't wear makeup

I shower in the evenings so in the morning (provided I know what I'm wearing) I can be washed dressed, made up and at the front door in 15 minutes. If I added in a shower and pulled my hair back, and just dried my fringe I'd be maybe 30 minutes max. I leave my hair to air dry in the evenings usually and just run a straightener over it first thing.

I can, and do prefer to take longer but weekday mornings I'd rather get up later than do it Smile

I shower in the evening, prefer to get into bed clean. Then 20 mins in morning from start to finish Smile

EyelinerQueen · 30/04/2014 09:11

I get up at 6.45am and shower, dress and do my hair and makeup by 07.30am when DD wakes up.

I could do it much more quickly but I love doing my makeup so spend ages on it Smile.

If only no make up was an option shinyshoes Envy. I'm about an hour but that includes endless faffing that I assumed having babies would cure. I was wrong. Like the getting clothes ready and showering the night before ideas. My hairs not great unless it's washed everyday mind, even with copious amounts of dry shampoo.

If I wash my hair it would take over an hour. My hair is long and thick and to wash, dry and style would be a good hour.

Just shower, dress, brush hair and make up would be under half an hour.

DowntonTrout · 30/04/2014 09:17

Ah. I only wash my hair once or twice a week. If I go to bed with it wet, it is still wet in the morning.

OddBoots · 30/04/2014 09:27

I have long thick hair (although I recently chopped some off in layers so it's no longer all down to my hips!) and found the best way to quickly dry my hair is having several towels, first I wrap in a regular towel for 5 mins, then I swap to a huge microfibre one for 5 mins and then another microfibre one for 10 mins. After that it dries really quickly without using heat.

Naicecuppatea · 30/04/2014 09:33

About half an hour in the morning, not including a shower as I shower the night before. Clothes, teeth, bit of makeup, hair is always a mess anyway, job done.

This morning it was exactly 64 minutes for two adults and one three year old to breakfast, shower/bathe, apply eczema cream, put makeup on (not the three year old or DP), dress, make packed lunches for 1 adult and said three year old, and leave.

I was feeling highly efficient until DP had to return home to pick up something highly important that he'd forgotten.
