I am 35, starting to get wrinkles, but I also still get acne, esp around my period. (Great, right? :) )

I have been using Nivea Q10 Pore Refining and it's ok, has definitely helped my pores, but I am just wondering whether I could find another cream which would have more of an effect on the wrinkles and/or the spots.

Ideally it would be £15 or less (although I might be able to stretch the budget a bit for the right product) and contain an SPF.

Over to you wise MNers!

I'm liking the superdrug B cream. Less red patches, moisturises all day. Not sure any cream will really get rid of wrinkles. Better off using SPF as well and something like nanoblur.
I've been using a tester of it and it works great on me.

Oh I have never heard of this one, I might go and have a look in Superdrug.

Do you know if it minimises pores too?

Well defo don't waste any money on nanoblur for a start!!

La Roche posay effaclar duo gets raved about for difficult skin but Just is right, there's not a cream on this planet that will help with wrinkles.

Justgotosleepnow · 30/04/2014 20:18

Hi! Been busy today (not on mumsnet - shocker!)
I don't have a great pore problem, so I haven't noticed a huge difference there. But they certainly aren't worse.

And superdrug has 50percent off all the B. range at the moment. That's why I gave it a go & went back for the night cream as am so impressed.
Only SPF 15 though.

I know a lot of people don't rate nanoblur, but I picked up a few tester sachets in boots & it definitely disguised the big horizontal forehead line. I read up on a skin lab guys blog that they figured out the wavelength of light refracting from the skin. On some people it works, on others it makes the skin look see tru, so worse basically. Interesting.

ShutTheFuckUpBarbara · 30/04/2014 21:34

Thanks! Will try nanoblur, but with an open mind! :) do you use it before or after the moisturiser?

I have used the Effaclar face wash in the past and liked it. I might try the duo cream.

Thanks everyone for your replies, it is nice to get other people's opinions!

I use Boots No7 Protect & Perfect Intense day cream (I also use the serum underneath) and find it really good. It is SPF 15 and importantly also 5* UVA. As I understand, SPF refers to protection from UVB rays which burn, but you need UVA protection for the rays which age the skin and these rays are present all year round even if not sunny. It costs about £22 but I never pay full price - No7 is usually on 3 for 2, frequent £5 off vouchers, half price gift sets, coupons for extra points etc so price is ok. I have also used the Body Shop Vitamin C day cream which I think has UVA and UVB protection - also good but I do find the No7 P&P better. I get hormonal spots around mouth and chin though - can't find any solution to those!

I use Botanics Organic Hydrating Day Cream which has rosehip in it and it is quite nice and does the job.

For more luxury Dr Hauschka Rose daycream is divine.

I also love Benefit Total Moisture cream and am using up mini pots at the moment too.

La Roche Posay's Toleriane cream (for sensitive skin) combined with LRP Effaclar A.I. on spots is a winning combination for me. Someone recommended the AI on here and it's brilliant.

SquidgyMaltLoaf · 02/05/2014 14:44

I love Johnson's day cream (glass jar with pink lid). It's about £4 and it makes my skin really soft and feels lovely! Has SPF15.

Using Aldi's at the moment and that seems pretty good too.

ShutTheFuckUpBarbara · 02/05/2014 22:03

I have gone for Botanics radiant youth (it was on offer! ) and also bought the Effaclar face wash to deal with the spots.
I hope the combination of the two works!

Oh and I also bought some Nanoblur.

Clinique do a great pore hiding concealer thing - not sure of the name, maybe pore minimising something or other, but it does hide them like magic. And I'm not generally a Clinique fan.

I've just gone over to Anne French cleansing milk and Avene skin recovery moisturiser, (you can get both for a total of about 15 quid at Boots) which is for calming your skin down. Mine was a disaster zone of hormonal spots last month and I was in despair.

ShutTheFuckUpBarbara · 02/05/2014 23:00

Thanks artisan, I will have to wait until my next pay check though...

Def one for the next pay check but the new Lancôme Visionnaire Day and Night cream is amazing and I was a sceptic at the mere thought.

Neutrogena healthy skin anti-wrinkle day cream. On amazon. Retinol for wrinkles and also helps keep skin clear. Make up goes on nicely on top of it as we'll and it has SPF 15. It's the best anti aging cream for the price hands down.
