A warm and stylish dog walking coat

I'm not a fashionita, but have vowed to feel good in every outfit I wear rather than wearing the same old comfy clothes and looking a mess.

I'm struggling with my dog walking coat - have a warm skiing type anorak that keeps me warm, but makes me look 2 stone heavier than I am.

I'm 50s, tall, slimish

Any ideas?

Ah trinityrhino then you need to save up for an expensive coat then! Keep an eye out for sales. I honestly think my coat transformed my walking experience. Nothing fazes me now. I also have waterproof trousers, waterproof walking boots and fab hat and gloves. The weather cannot penetrate those layers!

I have a padded jacket from Joules, it's good for between seasons weather (works in winter with layers). It has a slight Barbour look to it, you can get it in several lengths/colours.

Hmm, see my Llahsas are pretty stylish, I don't think they'd like to be seen out with me in a mumsy fleecey fleece. Plus one of them is black and the other golden, so wouldn't want to show favouritism by wearing black, so what colour would go with both?
