I have mega dry skin at the moment, there is just a sort of film of almost powdery dryness over my arms and legs (attractive eh?) I want to get rid of it! I find scrubs pretty ineffective tbh so I'm after something else, just not sure what!
Is there anything?

I've never had a scrub a quarter as good from a shop as the one I make for a few quid with a bag of sugar and a bottle of almond oil (though olive would do). I mix it up in varying quantities in an empty Astral tub, depending on how scrubby I am feeling. Talking of which, Astral cream is also excellent.

You can buy exfoliating gloves from any drug store or even from places like Poundland. They are very effective. I use Aveeno on my skin afterwards.

Those gloves make my skin itchy afterwards.

Sea salt in light oil is good, if a bit messy.

I've tried all these things before :( I guess what I want is a sort of peel or something?

A body lotion with AHA in it will make a huge difference, Gatineau do a lovely one. Your skin sounds quite similar to mine, and since using boots own brand mango and Shea butter scrub in the shower, with the AHA body lotion afterwards its been a million times better...

Calcot Manor salt scrub from Tesco.

Get a handful rub it into dry skin and shower off. It has literally turned my skin around....used to use the Origins one this is much better at a fraction of the price....

I second using a scrub on dry skin first. I use this m.boots.com/mt/www.boots.com/en/Sanctuary-Long-Lasting-Moisture-4-Day-Moisture-Oil-Scrub-250g_1296511/#un_jtt_addtohome_hidden. Scrub on dry and really go to town (typically til I look radioactive!!) then turn shower on, add a bit of water and scrub again, then rinse off. Skin like a baby's bum and no need to moisturise either.

it sounds more like you need a good body lotion than a scrub, sandy film is dryness scrubbing will make it dryer.

Are you dehydrated Ray

Try the scrubs and increase your water intake.
Moisturise on damp skin (post bath/shower) to seal in the hydration

I'm gonna get some AHA stuff, it sounds like what I'm looking for.
I use Aveeno atm, and I def need to drink more water!

I like the No7 Micro Dermabrasion body scrub. Doesn't feel scratchy like some body scrubs and my skin feels nice and soft after.
I just need to remember to use it more lol!
