Is it too early for a school run dress thread?

And are these

[[http://www.whitestuff.com/daisy-pom-dress-prod407574_willow_grn/ exhibit a]]
exhibit b

a. horrible
b. mumsy
c. fresh and summery
d. it depends

Never usually look at White Stuff, its all a bit Abersoch for me but like these colours. FWIW I ould change the belts for a proper belt and wear with brogues.

Any better suggestions, esp for something a bit more urban?

Or indeed is the whole school run dress concept O.V.E.R.?

MrsInga I am inverted triangle shape - no real waist definition. The teal colour comes with matching leggings and has lots of colours in so easy to match with other stuff. The waist might be too high for an hour glass maybe?

Snog what shape are you? I keep looking at the parrot dress online but I'm not sure, I'm a 16 hourglass.

Mary If you are slim the pom dress might look good on, but I am a top heavy size 14 and it was a real shocker on me Grin

Thankyou Snog - that is above and beyond in terms of research!

Shall avoid. Trip to Gap maybe.

Tried on the daisy pom dress in store yesterday as I like the photo of it. Huge thumbs down from me as it was super mega mumsy on me. I did buy their parrot dress though and a grey biker jacket.

Not unusual at my dd's nursery for WAGgy mums to turn up in bikini with just a kaftan or linen shirt over.

Around here those dresses would look a bit "try hard" for picking the kids up. I'll be throwing on comfy jersey dresses.

I like that White Company dress best, I am short bodied with big boobs so all those dresses with gathered bodices going into a fitted waist & a high neck made me look too bovine.

The styling on the Uniqlo dress is so weird - it would look good with converse/skater shoes, it isn't a mid-height heel work dress.

I like the French Connection dress but it would be good for work, possibly too good for playground on the way home.

No school run for me. But I am a big fan of casual day dresses (so shamelessly marking place, will add links later).

The first dress is polyester mix or viscose? The colour is ok

I like the style of the second dress more, but the pattern not so much.

No school run here but my goal this Summer is to have a handful of dresses I can just pull on, so it seems like a good concept to me whatever you call it.

Sainsburys denim dress is nice on, esp for the price here

I like this one I think - but the reviews say it's a bit sack like.

I don't wear school run dresses because I work now, but the concept is good for weekends - to get the papers, nip to the shops, whatever. I don't get why people get so uppity about it (and it was started only half seriously in the first place iirc).

Love the Gap ones, not the other ones so much. I'll try to find some to link to.

I usually get quite a visceral reaction to Boden, and not in a good way, but I like that in the stripes, Skinny.
