BIL marrying trust fund bitch from hell

5'3. Big boobs, bit of a tummy after twins last year but mostly a size 10.

Dress code is "Summer cocktail" - no stilettos as it is in a back garden

I intend to look a billion dollars. What shall I wear?

Really like that Reiss dress, & I don't usually like Reiss. Nice and fresh, easy to accessorise.

Lovely dress

May I recommend these Dune wedges I have the black/white and they combine glam with comfort brilliantly.

TSSDNCOP · 23/04/2014 18:41

Ps am v jealous, I've been to Laguna it's lovely!

grumblepuss · 23/04/2014 20:12

Could you go slightly eccentric English? Rather than trying to compete with the Cali ladies?

Alexandria McQueen? Vivienne Westwood? Something a little bit classic and British?

Hanginggardenofboobylon · 23/04/2014 22:25

If you are big of nork have a look at Saint Bustier, they have a couple of amazing Vivienne Westwood pieces that blow the budget but might be worth it!

Springing · 23/04/2014 22:57

I love this - Michael Kors - cool, understated, not trying too hard - with gold sandals?

Springing · 23/04/2014 23:02

Nigella dress is lovely too - but needs heels.

FreeButtonBee · 24/04/2014 08:48

Forgot about saint bustier. I like this Viv Westwood dress but I think it would be too long on my and cut across my chunky calves at the exact wrong point.

However, I remember that I have a discount code for My-Wardrobe so might be able to get something really great at a slightly more reasonable price. Off to look.

Okay, I have a chunky code for my-W so what do we think of these options?

Simple, would be a good length on me - above knee but not indecently so. Would work with a wedge I think.

I know I said no maxis but these might just change my mind...

I like the modern shape of this but might look a bit shapeless on me

too OTT?!

Gorgeous, but probably too much fabric.

A safe option and would probably look pretty vavavoom on me but not sure about shoes.

Love the green Michael Kors maxi!!

carrie74 · 24/04/2014 14:05

I think a Cali wedding is likely to have a lot of colour, so I'd steer clear of anything too neutral. I'd probably avoid a maxi as I don't like them much for weddings anyway, but they can also make shorter people just look a bit dumpy. I like the Carven bandage dress, and sounds like it would play up your best features. I'd be worried about the higher necks of the other shorter dresses with your boobage as well. So I'd say play up boobs and legs, and try to be colourful.

burnishedsilver · 24/04/2014 16:10

This has potential...alexander McQueen. It has colour, its has a v neck for the boobs, draping for the tummy, shows a bit of leg, it's designer, and could it possibly be done with a flat shoe. IT42 is UK 10.
