Help me with my red chin

I'm in my forties and over the last few years have suffered with lovely open pores on my chin and around my nose. The ones on my chin are even more noticeable as the skin there is very red. If I try to cover the redness with foundation or concealer it just sits in the open pores and just looks terrible. I can get the pores to look a little better if I use either Benefit porefessional or the clinique stuff that does the same, but it doesn't really cover the redness. Is there anything I can do to reduce the redness in the first place?

How about a colour correcting primer first? I saw smashbox do some, they had ones for redness/dark circles etc, though don't know how good they are (I recently bought the normal one). I have open pores myself and got good coverage using the Estée Lauder double wear light foundation and applied it (& other foundations I've been using recently) with a buffing brush, seemed to disguise the pores better.

Rose is really calming, I love Decleor rose balm as a night treatment. I'm sure other brands so something similar.

I ve started using clinique daily relief from the redness solutions range, think its around £37 for a 50ml jar and ts amazing stuff, I have really red cheeks, so find the primers dont work for me at all but this stuff has been amazing, and im only sorry they didnt make it when i was a teenager as i suffered terribly!

GP - you might be suffering from something other than 'just red skin/open pores'.

You can self refer to a dermatologist if you want to/afford it.

There must be a reason your chin is so red. Ditch any harsh products and use proper hypo-allergenic stuff, such as La Roche Posay.
Wear SPF every day.
And then I second a visit to GP or a dermatologist.
