Opinions on Fly London shoes?

What do you all think?I know they're comfy, but in the style stakes just how frumpy would you rate them?

I've had the peacock leather pakos delivered this morning as need wedged ballet pumps and these were higher in nicer colours and with a better heel than most cheaper ones.

They are comfy and I love the colour, look ok from above/front BUT I keep wondering if I'm going to suddenly have a frumpy freak out and want to hide my feet if I wear them with capris Blush

Was about to say I love my Fly London boots, they're super stylish as well as comfy etc etc. Then I saw your pic Hmm I'm afraid those are a bit frumpy IMO, although I love the colour.

I thought that Fly London is quite a trendy brand. I always see them in Schuh. So I associate them with the more hip and trendy. It looks okay, but one thing though. I am a bit concerned about the colour, cos it is quite sharp. Does it match your colour palettes? As a wedgy comfy shoe, it looks okay. It reminds me of Campers. I have a flat pair in black. They seem to look well made, and as comfy as Ecco/Clarks too.

Maisie0 · 16/04/2014 16:32

Sorry, forgot to answer your question.
The shoes cannot match with a capri, because it doesn't show as much of your feet than say a pair of heels, or sandals. I had a look on Fly London, and they do have some nice sandals by the way. If you want a pair of pump wedge to work, it has to have a shallower top like this.

Hm. I just realised all the Fly ones have a shorter top part just like a heel does. I don't know now. Lol. I think you need to try and take a pic to see. (Ok, now I get why Fly is "trendy". Their shoes are wedge heels.)

arp2411 · 16/04/2014 17:35

I think they look great!

I have not heard of the style rule Maisie0 mentioned in her post. Try them with capris and if they look good keep them!

rollonthesummer · 16/04/2014 17:36

I love Fly London. I have two pairs of their boots and two pairs of sandals. I like the colour of the shoes you've posted but not the wedge-I think pumps with wedges look really strange!

TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge · 16/04/2014 18:10

They are shallow topped lol

I do love the colour!!

I think that's the awkward bit-wedges with ballet pumps can be really tricky and some just look old lady like the little wedges in black or same colour as the shoe.Grr

I do have a totally different pair of white wedge ballet pumps which are kinda cool and different but they're not leather and when I wore them in this heat my feet were all sweaty.Bleugh!

objects of desire
I have been lusting after these, has anyone tried them please?

OP I like your shoes, however, I am 55 and the very antithesis of style!

Maisie0 · 16/04/2014 18:31

I haven't figured out how to wear a summer outfit yet to an office. I just try for heel but closed toes and yes, the smell and sweat thing is horrible. I used to have a good pair of leather pumps too which I used to wear everywhere. I think leather shoes do work in the summer. Sometimes materials like that which is natural has a kind of wicking property to it. The only problem is when it then rains half way through the day and you end up spoiling your shoes. Arrrgh... I hate that. Sigh.

I've got those sandals in tan, Dawndonnaagain!

They are lovely-so comfy!

Dawndonnaagain · 16/04/2014 20:44

Oh, thank you Rollonthesummer. I shall have to purchase now! Easter Smile

alltoomuchrightnow · 16/04/2014 23:34

i really love them, had many shoes and boots

PrimalLass · 17/04/2014 09:23

I'm not keen on any of the Fly London shoes. Some of the boots are nice.

CuntyBunny · 17/04/2014 09:33

I have a few pairs of the more "out there" high wedge sandles and think they are funky, but I am 41 Wink. I can't see your pic, but a lot would depend how you style them. I sport an early 90s indie grunge chick look and have done forever, so I'd never really go for a spindly, high heel "lady lady" kind of shoe.
Well jealous of those who can get the Fly boots on. My cycling calves have put the kibosh on that.

PavlovtheCat · 17/04/2014 09:38

oh yes, love love love them. I have three pairs of fly london boots and a pair of wooden wedge heels (which I can't really wear any more), they are very comfortable, I can wear my boots with a bad back, and hopefully their shoes, like the ones posted are comfy enough too as I want a pair!

Not frumpy at all imo. But, I am 36 so does that mean I am just getting on a bit with my taste?!

rollonthesummer · 17/04/2014 10:20

Cuntybunny-that's why I like them. Most boots look like wellies on my spindly calves; Fly boots fit perfectly!

cherryhealey · 17/04/2014 16:23

Big Fly fan here.
I can't bear uncomfortable shoes and Fly are so comfortable.
Not frumpy at all.
Wear well and look good.

Slackgardener · 17/04/2014 19:05

I don't like them...I think they look a bit frumpy.
