What do you SAHM's wear?

I have a nearly 3 yr old dd and end up wearing jeans or combat style trousers most days with tshirts as in anything else i feel overdressed. Just wondered what other SAHM's wore. Would love to look a bit more groomed and trendy but feel a bit silly. Am on a weight loss programme at the moment as well so am hoping that as i lose weight will be able to find more things that look right.

I wera clothes like you knat.
Would prefer to look trendy and smart but can't afford to buy loads of clothes and can't really be bothered.....

Olihan · 22/08/2006 22:54

Whatever is the cleanest thing in the pile of clothes on my floor that haven't yet been deemed dirty enough to go into the laundry bin .

Hattie05 · 22/08/2006 22:57

I guess i'm lucky that i work parttime from home, so a couple of times a week i normally have to go to meetings - giving an excuse to dress up a bit. And then i feel i am perfectly entitled to wear skanky tracksuits the rest of the time when i'm at home .

Twiga · 22/08/2006 23:02

Same here knat, usually accompanied by that essential Mummy acessory of dried biscuit or other chewed food on one shoulder

CarolinaMoon · 22/08/2006 23:07

similar to you, knat, but more skirts and vests in summer.

no jewellery these days though, it just gets in the way.

Agree with Malory ... (am so chuffed to be in agreement and already doing things that a MN style guru suggests )

Once DD got over the grabbing anything dangly (earrings, necklaces etc) stage I started to accessorize more ...
It makes such a difference - way cheaper than buying new clothes and if you have a selection of beady necklaces that go with anything then you can tart your cargo pants and t-shirts up in no time ...

sfxmum · 22/08/2006 23:16

as a soon to be sahm i thank you for tips on the mn approved uniform

MarsLady · 22/08/2006 23:17

ghosty · 22/08/2006 23:18

Also ... as it is summer where you are ... paint your toenails ... change the colour every week ... really makes a difference ...
