Does anyone have experience of semi permanent lashes. Was thinking of trying them as my own are so thin and short? What is the approx costs and upkeep requirements please?

The only thing with them is they look nice to start with. After a week you start to lose some & end up with gaps. The lashes seem to pull out your own lashes with them.
I am a beauty therapist & I did all the correct aftercare. I end up with short stubby lashes & had to use lash growth serum to grow them back. I'd never get them done again. I've heard this happen to lots of other people too.
Use strip lashes only for special occasions.

You have to get them filled every few weeks.

Same here with the stubby lashes and serum - thank god they did grow back! They look amazing at first, but I won't be doing it again!

Yes

Stupid phone!

Yes, i'd agree with other posters.

The lashes look fantastic, and if you get them re-filled ever few weeks and look after them well (eye mask at night, no products on them, conditioning them etc) they will continue to look great.

HOWEVER, when I have had them removed my natural lashes have been damaged every time - no matter which lash brand has been used. Practitioners will tell you that your natural lashes just 'appear' shorter as you've become used to the false ones, but this isn't the case. I used to have before and after photos to prove it. I don't know if there are any semi-permanent lash brands that don't damage lashes - despite what the companies say (they will all say that their brand is non-damaging and different to the rest).

As fantastic as they look, I just don't think it's worth it. I would get them done for my wedding, but have them removed a week later at the latest to minimise damage.

Sorry, guess that wasn't the info you were looking for, OP.

Thanks for the info. Definitely think I'll rethink the whole semi permanent route!! Blush

Ive maintained my ones for three years now, tbh I'm a bit scared of what might be underneath. I find them easy to take care of, I get them topped up every two weeks or weekly if I have lots of nights out happening.

I'm pretty sure they aren't good for you though but they look so darn pretty.

I think I am the only person who has not had damaged lashes from extensions. I had them for my wedding and I loved them and my lashes were fine after - I didn't get them removed, I just let them fall out naturally so they did look a bit stupid when I only had like 2 extensions on each eye, but maybe that's why they didn't get damaged?

I had blink and go and I had them quite a few times - at first I had them and fell in love with me new lashes. I didn't have to wear any eye make up at all and still looked amazing - right out of bed so as you can imagine that's pretty cool!

I kept having them re filled over the course of about 6 weeks I had them kind of permanently for that time.

On my 4 the set the beautition said my real lashes needed a break so she removed them and said I needed to wait 2 weeks before getting them again - I was gutted! And felt very bald and plain when they were off.

I did have some spaces but the remaining lashes were not any shorter.

Anyway my lashes grew back fully within 2 weeks but I didn't have them re done. Just upgraded my mascara (Lancôme Hypnose)

I do have them for holidays and by day 10 I start wiping baby oil over my lashes and they start to come away and I feel like that's more gentle than the professional method which stings like a MF!

When I had them applied I would ask for loads to be applied and then any that were lost did not cause spaces in the semi lashes. That made a real difference.

They do move around and even when showering and washing hair you cannot remove the water from your eyes like normal you just have to let it drain off which is a bit irritating but the steam really loosens the glue.

Sorry for long post! Hope it helps :)
