Whistles' outrageously high prices

I just went to the 'New In' section on the Whistles website, and saw a lovely white dungaree dress. Now, I understand this will not be to everyone's taste, but I like it. Until I see the price - £295!!!!

So then I think, ok, maybe it's leather. Nope - cotton polyester mix. Whistles' pricing this season is beyond ridiculous, which I feel sad about as I do like their clothes. But even at 50% reduction in the sale! I don't think I could justify paying £150 for that dress. No more Whistles for me I guess Confused.

It feels like Whistles maybe going the same way as Mulberry - pricing themselves out of their core market. Or is it just me?!

Their cotton tshirts feel fab to start with but are so thin that holes appear neat waistline after a few wears (i think jeans waistband causes this). i mentioned it to sales woman "yeah happens all the time". UH and you think this is OK?! The dresses are nice but yes, polyester, and really you cant seriously be rehashing the SAME STYLE EVERY EFFING SEASON just in different fabrics (yes i'm looking at you bodycon with zip down the back). I have washed my hands of this brand, and used to easily spend about 500 per season there min.

Cos has much better quality separates. Banana Republic does same quality for much lower prices (and their luxe tshirts are fab), Sandro fills the same gap for me, as does Theory, Maje, Kooples and J Crew. So if you're looking for a replacement try those.
