Hi everyone.
MIL is taking my 20 mo DD swimming and has bought her a baby bikini. (this one if it makes any difference)

She looks cute and I am grateful that she thought of DD but my mum says that they're frowned upon for young ones and I'll be judged at the pool! Am I out of touch? Are they so bad? Should I buy her another one instead?

shopping you old trout
i LOVE bikinis. When i was about 3 we lived in tropical climes and i had one with a RING between the top sections, I thought i was the COOLEST in the world.

Only in pervy old England would they be seen as sexual. its all in your heads.

imagine sweltering in a fricken one piece as a kid

You don't swelter in a one piece, you avoid getting red raw tummy. No- dd looks cute as can be with her sticky out tummy in her one piece. I'd have thought you would be anti, lego. She's not allowed nail varnish yet either.

Meh. With the benefit of old old dinosaur age I think we really do sweat the small Stuff

Dd1 is 8 and has tankinis the tops meet the bottoms most of the time. When in hot climates she wears the bottoms with a uv rash vest. You see all the local little girls running around in just knickers or bikini bottoms and no one bats an eyelid. As a pp said it's only here we raise eyebrows and assume a paedophile is lurking in every public place.
