Would you buy shoes or hightops?

Thinking of asking for some for my birthday, I've always had cheap imitations before.

Converse Dance are nice too, lower on the foot.

expatinscotland · 10/04/2014 15:06

Low.

cessie322 · 10/04/2014 15:22

Hashtagwhatever do the white not get filthy? My friend in work was saying she always wears them but I'd be afraid I'd ruin them. She just bought a white leather pair. Must have a look at the Converse Dancers.

hashtagwhatever · 10/04/2014 15:26

They aren't too bad I can have them a good 6 months and you can wash them. Never had a leather pair imagine they stay cleaner longer?

cessie322 · 10/04/2014 15:32

She had a leather pair already and had washed them a few times but then she put them in two hot a wash and ruined them. So this is the second pair. She will only wear spotless converse so I'd say she bins the canvas ones regularly. I wouldn't have thought the leather would go in the machine but she reckoned it was fine! Does the white around the sole go yellow at all, especially when you wash them?

hashtagwhatever · 10/04/2014 15:34

I alternate between the low, high and a few others I have so they are not worn daily. I have never had the bottoms go yellow but like your friend one wash too many and the sole will come away from the fabric.

Coumarin · 10/04/2014 17:20

Lows. I never know what to wear with high tops.

cessie322 · 10/04/2014 22:43

Thanks hashtagforever. Might get a white pair next month.

feckawwf · 10/04/2014 22:45

White lows for me but only cos I wouldn't know what to wear with high tops? Help!

GetLeanOrDieTrying · 10/04/2014 22:47

Feck I wear leggings and a baggy/long top. I've got neon pink hi tops. They make my legs look really fat... But then my legs are fat.

DD has a pink pair and a red pair. Never buy hi tops for kids Hmm

Nocomet · 11/04/2014 11:16

Never buy Hi tops for littleDCs, teen DCs who can lace them are fine.

LaTrucha · 11/04/2014 11:22

I think it depends on your body shape. I'm quite curvy and large chested and lows look a bit diddly on my feet. His seem to balance me out. I love the low grey ones though.

Lows are more versatile though, I think.

MushroomSoup · 11/04/2014 22:46

Lows. Blue!

Cataline · 11/04/2014 22:51

Always low. The highs are a little too narrow for my wide feet and I always get a pinched little toe!

Heathcliff27 · 11/04/2014 23:06

For me, 40 something, I say lows. I feel hi tops make me look like i'm trying too hard to look young. My kids however, would say hi tops all the way and say my lows look too much like deck shoes Blush

Sicaq · 12/04/2014 08:19

Neither. I'd buy Caterpillar sneakers instead, which won't look tatty within six weeks and fall apart within six months.

insancerre · 12/04/2014 08:26

I have worn black converse all stars for the last decade
now everyone is wearing them I've just bought a pair of palladium black canvas boots

PrimalLass · 12/04/2014 08:29

Tan leather lows.
