Microdermabrasion

Seems to me filing off the top layer of skin is a logical way to make wrinkles less deepGrin. Are salon microdermabrasion treatments any good? Are they suitable for anyone with a few wrinkles or for problem skins? What experiences have people had?
Tia.

I've had a few sessions of microdermabrasion at Skin clinic in the past. I have combination skin and at the time had mild acne but bad acne scarring. 3 sessions really helped with the scarring and it didn't irritate my skin. If I had the money I'd get it done regularly!! I can't comment (yet!) on whether it would work on wrinkles.

The only thing I'd recommend is to go to a skin specialist (such as Skin or a dermatologist or something) rather than a high street salon - unless someone was lying to me, the high street salons use weaker machines and you won't get the same result.

I have acne and acne scarring too but did go to a high st place and found it a waste of money so I think crepe's advice is good.

Just to clarify, when I say acne scarring I meant dark brown pigmentation after spots (I'm prone to this as i'm mixed race) as opposed to 'pits' in the skin. God I explained that badly - hope it made sense!
