Best place for bras.....

I'm after well-fitting, comfortable and attractive tshirt bras (do they even exist?).

I'm a 32d, I have a wide cup but not full, so will need to have at least light padding. Balconies don't fit me, so has to be plunge style, but I don't like too much plunge!

I was thinking of buying hanro but at £50 for the cheapest, I was wondering if there is a brand out there I haven't discovered. I think M&S have nice styles/colours and wash well but the cups are a bit hit and miss on me.

Thanks.

have you double checked your size using the bra guru advice?

Have you tried Debenhams?

evelynj · 09/04/2014 10:18

Bravissimo if you can get to one is great ! They will check your sizing & can be different depending on the brand, but you have smaller cup size (lucky) so I don't know if some of the normal high street shops are ok-debenhams can be good & freya deco moulded cups are good. You do need to go & try bras on unless you are familiar with the brand & sure of sizing or happy to return

SorrelForbes and StatisticallyChallenged would be best placed to advise you on styles for your breast shape/size

StatisticallyChallenged · 09/04/2014 10:25

Waves to powerhoop

If you could double check your size that would be great - not being able to wear balconies when you have wide breasts can sometimes be a red flag for the wrong size.

If M&S have fitted you, it's probably wrong btw ;)

It's funny, M&S fitted me at a 36B. I already knew I was definitely a 32D. The measuring lady looked unconvinced but when she went to get a few 32Ds she said 'oh, you're right'.

Can do a 34C in a very few shops though.

I have been measured by Bravissimo, La Senza, John Lewis, House of Fraser and Rigby & Peller, all 32D. Before and after kids.

I think I will try Debenhams, though I was looking for a new, wonder brand! I think Sloggi are quite nice but I can't remember seeing these in recent years.

Thanks everyone.

If your breasts have lost volume at the top (which is normal post baby!) then you might find something balconette style will work better as you won't get gaping. The Cleo Juna is very popular for this.

Bodicea · 09/04/2014 18:03

M&S are shocking!! They really don't know how to measure! Don't know who teaches them.

Bodicea · 09/04/2014 18:05

If you are after a bargain and know what brand you want try brastop and limon ivy online

permaquandry · 09/04/2014 19:37

I know, if I hadn't been really sure of my size, pre M&S fitting, goodness knows what is have ended up with. I wanted to be measured by them, just to see.

My breast are close together, the balcony bras have too much 'centre' and dig into the breast tissue.

TK Maxx are good for bras and I love Figleaves whose customer service is just brilliant

RedandChecker · 09/04/2014 19:43

I use ann summers, I am a 34 E and they have been the best fit for me. They have a wide range of really pretty and or plain t-shirt bras 2 for £25!

StatisticallyChallenged · 09/04/2014 20:24

I have very close set boobs too, it's a total pain in the ass isn't it!

The absolute best brands for close set boobs are two polish companies, Ewa Michalak and Comexim. I've used both. They have very narrow central gores - and both do fabulous plunges too
