What can I do with my bloody awful skin?

I just want to cry with it.

It's always been crap, you can tell where I am in my cycle just by looking at my chin but it's never been quite bad enough for the doctors to want to help.

Now though not only am I getting the big throbbing hormone monsters on my chin (which is quite scarred now) my forehead is covered in bumps and my skin keeps getting really flushed and hot on the cheeks which I'm wondering if it's rosacea? I have a red dot on the end of my nose which doesn't seem to be a spot, just like a tiny red dot which nothing will cover.

I have tried all kinds of regimes over the years (I'm 30) and I'm currently using quite gentle products but to be honest whatever I do doesn't seem to help it. It doesn't feel like a reaction to products either, just feels like it's going to be horrid whatever I use.

I'm not sure there is any answer but I'm just so sad that I try so hard but still have painful, ugly skin on my face.

Oh bless you, I don't have the answer but I can sympathise! I suffer with those awful chin spots too....they build up under the skin and leave marks which take ages to go.

Things that have helped me are:
quinaderm cream from the chemist, use it at night, lightly and it won't make the skin flake but helps sort the spots out
simple care.....be really gentle with your skin and try not to touch it!
I have just gone back to Liz Earle, and the difference has been incredible! my husband list his job in Sept so I haven't felt I can justify expensive skincare but the stress has crapped out my skin so I treated myself!
find a concealer you like, as I always work on the theory that as long as I can cover it up then I'm half way home!
clarins serum from the gentle range, used to be called sos, it's brilliant to rub into the marks and fade them (it's pricey but lasts ages and ages!)

don't chop and change products as it won't help, is a waste of money and will just depress you........!

I'd say go to the doctor if you are up for trying the pill or tablets - this isn't something I do, haven't been on the pill in ten years and don't want to muck up my system although writing that makes me wonder how much better my skin might be of I was on the pill!!!

Good luck, I know it's crap but you aren't the only one xxxx

My skin sounds very similar, but I (hopefully) have turned a corner in the past few weeks. What's worked for me is also quinoderm (available over the counter) on my chin at night - you need to use it every night for several weeks, not just when you have a spot. I had microdermabrasion a few weeks ago which definitely helped a lot - not had a spot since and it's improved the scarring on my chin. I use Bare Minerals foundation, and cleanse, tone and moisturise every night. Hope you find something that works soon

Thank you both for replying. I think I will try the quinoderm and see the doc if that fails.

I'm struggling to find a concealer just now, they are all either not high coverage enough or they sort of peel off of the blemishes after a few hours. I might look into mineral make up, I have a mineral foundation which is slightly too dark but I quite like the coverage so might invest in a lighter shade.

Thank you again.

Have you tried Benefit Boing concealer? It's got a lovely texture and was pretty good on my most awful spots. Ultimately though you probably need to let your skin breathe as much as possible, so if you can go without any/much make-up it should help. Easier said than done! Good luck with the quinoderm, I hope it works.
