Trying to look decent - make up advice really needed

Hello, I am in need of guidance on what make up works when you have little time. I have fair skin with a pink undertone with big pores. Every foundation I try just looks like a mask. Not sure what else I need to use. I have two diddy ones so as most of you know time and money is short. Would be so grateful for suggestions? Thank you.

Multi use products like benefits benetint for lips and cheeks make you look more awake . Have you thought about eyelash tinting?

I can do my version of a full face in 5 mins, it just needs everything to hand. I have good skin so I use a BB cream and under eye concealer, rather than foundation (I don't like the thicker mask like look either). A quick swipe of blusher (I like NARS sticks, quicker and less matt than powder). Sometimes eye shadow, sometimes not - cream ones from Benefit are my quick faves. I use a setting spray, but you wouldn't necessarily need to. A little powder on the t zone. And mascara.

Thank you. What bb cream do people use?

I know time is short, but can you get a little bit of time to go to one of the stands in a department store? I know the foundation is more expensive, but I found that when I was taught to use it properly, one lot of foundation lasts for months - and worked out cheaper than when I was buying cheaper foundations that didn't quite match.

(Bobbi brown for me, requested to look like me, but better and they matched my foundation perfectly to my face and taught me how to apply it so my face just looks like I have nice skin).

You tube is brilliant for tutorials on how to apply makeup and tackling problems. Wayne Goss (I think he goes under the name gossmakeupartist or something like that) Pixiwoo and Lisa Eldridge are some of the best, but there are loads. Wayne Goss has a tutorial on how to conceal large pores using a foundation brush instead of fingers when applying foundation - basically you apply in a circular motion. It may seem that you are blocking your pores, but if you are using a good foundation and have a good skincare routine it shouldn't matter.

Forgot to add, I trained as a professional makeup artist and some of these tutorials are excellent in terms of professional advice, I have picked up so many tips. The names I quoted are some of the best makeup artists in the country so well worth a look, and the tutorials are free. Beware using a department store sales person, they will push their own and sometimes very expensive brands. I do believe in higher end foundations, but there are some brilliant and dirt cheap products like eyeshadows by MUA, Sleek, ELF etc for buttons that are just as good as high end brands.
