Dress help? think I'm getting old

I loved this but the sleeves/neck was a nightmare

I think I like this but I keep getting flashes of my Nana

I bought this - but the sleeves are too tight across my arms so I might take it back

I want a full skirt - I have a nice slim waist but something simpler at the sleeve than the first dress, but maybe a bit more colour than the third

I think I like this but am I too old (45)?

katy the coral dress is beautiful, so what if you're 45, if it suits you and you like it go for it!

KatyMac · 07/04/2014 21:43

I'd need a 14 I think

My legs are OK (hairy but OK & I can fix the hair)

Hmm maybe I took the one I bought to show my mum & she laughed said it was too short & not the right colour for me....I think she is right about the colour

The coral one is lovely and I think your age is irrelevant nana flashing at any age is wrong Grin

KatyMac · 07/04/2014 21:54

Is it a bit 60s/70s nylon is what I meant about my nana Grin

Oh you meant nanna!!! Shock

I thought it was your word for ya foof!! Grin

Ilovemydogandmydoglovesme · 07/04/2014 21:57

Don't ask your mother in future. Grin

It's a gorgeous dress.

KatyMac · 07/04/2014 22:09

I think the problem is under the shop lights there was a reasonable contrast between the colour of my skin & the background but in daylight my skin looks very yellow next to it

Nanna/Nana/Grandmother - just to be clear - my fanjo is not to be flashed at all! (no way would I wear skirts that short)

45 year old women are allowed to wear nice dresses too you know. Smile

Like others have said, the coral one is lovely and I've no idea why anyone would object to it, unless the colour doesn't suit you? I like the green one too - it doesn't remind me of the 60s/70s and I was there!

KatyMac · 07/04/2014 22:20

Well I know - but I'm going out with 2 16yos & they might laugh Hmm

So I need to know I don't look daft

So you're getting style advice from your mum and a couple of teenagers? No wonder you're confused! If they laugh at you, then you're doing well - I don't think 16 year-olds even see me any more Grin But it was ever thus and you won't look daft, you will look lovely.

I do think that coral can be tricky to wear (for some people) so the green might suit you better.

KatyMac · 07/04/2014 23:05

That's true - coral is often very orange - in the shop it looked red......but maybe in daylight it would look more orange

Green is safe but I'd need to go to another branch as mine didn't have it in store....

Hang on, I get style advise from my mum, a couple of teenagers & MN - that makes it infallible surely?

I'm 42 and I think I'm too young for Wallis! Lovely dress though.
