Talk to me about shampoo!

What, in people's experiences, is the very best shampoo and conditioner? I have shoulder length, thick, wavy, hair. Has a tendency to be frizzy if not tamed properly. Shampoos I've tried that are meant to smooth hair work for a while but then I end up with a greasy build-up. Ones that are meant to remove build-up leave my hair like cotton wool with no shine . Any input would be much appreciated!

Natural Empathy's shampoo and conditioner are lovely because they don't contain SLS. Pricey but they often have sale bargains. Sorry can't link from my phone but worth a google.

Jasons pure natural shampoo range. I use the Lavender as I love the smell but have used them all. And dove intensive hair therapy is a great range of conditioners, I've tried most and love them all. Control frizz but moo residue.
If you put L'oreal extraordinary oil on your hair over night then wash in the mourning it gives amazing results Smile

Jasons is also SLS free.

I really like the Jason range too for my afro hair. i've used the sea kelp version. But it's hard to find a wide selection in stores and it's pricey online. Sad

I use Tresemmé shampoo and conditioner but my saviour has been Revlon Equave spray that you spray on after you wash your hair but before you blow dry. It is amazing! It makes my hair so silky and glossy. It is definitely worth a try if you want smooth, shiny hair! I ordered mine online but I've been told you can get it in Sally's too. And it wasn't too dear, about £8 I think? Well worth it IMO.

I alternate between the heavier conditioning/smoothing shampoos, and the fresh,no build up ones.
My hair is much happier this way, i normally have three on the go a once, a 'fresh' one, and heavy conditioning one, and Black Malva to keep my colour from reddening.

I have similar hair to you op, sorry to hijack but my scalp itches horribly with most shampoos and conditioners inc some that are sls free..can anyone recommend anything for a sensitive scalp?

L'occitane do a great range of shampoo and I've never heard of someone who's reacted to them Smile

Mh hair is like yours. Im having great success with the Lush shampoo bar Trichomania. And it smells lovely too. Then I use a little bit of leave in conditioner on the ends.

Put some olive oil all over for 30 min before washing your hair. Even better if you mixed it with egg yolk. Do this for a few weeks and you'll see the difference. Natural shampoo does not work for me, makes my hair look horrible. You can use a few drops of olive oil as a live -in conditioner too.
