Where do your dh/p's buy their work shirts?

DH had bought his from next, but they didn't last long. So he shifted to matalan. IMO, they are pretty thin and he could probably get better without breaking the bank. He wears shirts 5 days a week but seems to think you can but 2 for £15 and they will last for years!

Please can I have some other places to suggest to him as I'm not clued up on mens shirts (although he seems to think I am Grin

Thanks

And also, I wish I didn't care (and in many ways I don't....) but he drives me crackers needing a special shopping trip every couple of months to buy more shirts.

T M Lewin. They usually do a 5 for 100 offer, their shirts last for ages wash and iron well.

ChickenFromHell · 06/04/2014 13:48

Marks and spencer.

DameFanny · 06/04/2014 13:50

DH mostly wears Eton as they suit his frame and last forever. They cost a lot, but he's often found them on Ebay for not very much.

Augustwedding · 06/04/2014 13:51

Tm lewin.

GeordieJellybean · 06/04/2014 13:52

M&S are good for shirts.

RonaldMcDonald · 06/04/2014 13:56

surely he could be looking this up??

EvilTwins · 06/04/2014 13:58

Tyrwhitt. Online. Similar prices to TMLewin. He gets non-iron.

Artandco · 06/04/2014 13:59

Hawes and Curtis

BuntingintheSunshine · 06/04/2014 14:02

DH has Charles Tyrwhitt, always ordered on a deal (4 for £100 plus 15% Quidco cashback) ,the twill non iron cotton ones. I sent some TM Lewin ones back as they took 45 mins to iron and it still looked awful. The CT ones take about 10 mins each. DH said it was amazing how much more comfortable and cooler they were than the bargain polycotton ones he had bought for years from M&S.

newtonupontheheath · 06/04/2014 14:07

Thanks, I'll mention them to him.

And yes, Ronald, he could look them up. But he won't. He'll continue to by matalan and then moan about them. And then I'll probably kill him.

HandragsNGladbags · 06/04/2014 14:08

T M Lewin - agree only in the sale. Their non iron and traveller shirts are good

RonaldMcDonald · 06/04/2014 14:12

If he really was pissed off with them he'd find new ones
in the way that we all do

by doing this for him your are treating him like a child and reinforcing this type of behaviour in him

i am so old that i am now saying shit like this on websites
it'll be a steep and rocky path once you start going down it

SAy, "oh, maybe you should do something about that...."

MrsMillions · 06/04/2014 14:15

Another one who buys Charles Tyrwhitt - online, on multi buy, non iron slim fit. Seem to last well.

DarylDixonsDarlin · 06/04/2014 18:26

Ronald not being funny but why is it bugging you so much?

I'm more than happy to help my DH with this sort of thing, I really don't see the issue...I have more time on my hands than he does, I like clothes, and I would like him to look and feel his best. plus I do the laundry so I have an interest in whether his shirts are shit or not! Confused. OP is hardly enabling him to behave like a child.

OP - My DH gets his from M&S, cos we live 5 mins over the road from there and he left it a bit late to go elsewhere. But they have been pretty good shirts so far, we had a 20% discount voucher last time so he bought a bunch of them. But I might point him in the direction of the Tyrwhitt or Lewin ones next time, if the prices are as reasonable as stated above :)

Slackgardener · 06/04/2014 18:52

ronald because that's the way relationships work.

I buy a lot of Dh's clothes because he's not interested, he does a lot of stuff for me that I need but I'm not that in to. We don't keep score, we just do the thing that best suits us, it's a good partnership.

Btw, we get Dh's shirts from Thomas Pink's preferably in the sale. Eton are good too, a bit more pricy but easier to iron.

MuttonCadet · 06/04/2014 18:57

He buys next, I buy M&S non-iron or TM Lewin non-iron.

you can see my priority...

TollgateDebs · 06/04/2014 19:06

TM Lewin, again usually 5 for £100' or in outlet shops. Wash, wear and iron very well.

Hulababy · 06/04/2014 19:09

Having tried various High Street shops, DH now just buys his from TM Lewin, again using the multibuy deal.

dexter73 · 06/04/2014 19:11

TM Lewin - went yesterday and is 4 for £90 at the moment (MacArthur Glen, Swindon).

motherinferior · 06/04/2014 19:13

I have absolutely no idea. They're his shirts.

callamia · 06/04/2014 19:15

Tyrhwitt slim fit non-iron again. Good range of colours and seem to last well. Always bought during sale (they're pretty frequent).

ilovepowerhoop · 06/04/2014 19:20

TM Lewin especially when they have offers on - normally 5 for £90/£100

Iwasagnome · 06/04/2014 19:23

M and S or Debenhams ( in the sales)
