Harem trousers. Do people still wear them and if so what with?

I've seen some Harem trousers in Next and they have got great reviews. I know that they were fashionable last year but are they still now?

I would love to get them based on the comfort factor but don't know what top to wear with them or what is worn on feet?

I have 2 pairs and my DH absolutely hates them, he always asks me why I am dressed like a clown. I wear them with a fitted top and slouchy jumper, biker jacket with Ash high tops but always with my hair done, make up and jewellery or else I look like I am wearing my pyjamas. In the summer I wear them with silver sandals and a fitted vest top.
