Apologies if so but I feel that we should acknowledge the style icon that is Claire Underwood.

I would probably sell my children for her wardrobe.

I had to google her.
Oh my goodness, she is my new style crush too.
I have her figure and short hair sadly not her beauty so she's a good icon for me.
Thanks!

Oh god that Zoe what a drip. Far too drippy to be a journalist.

I really liked the examination of the 'power couple' you know, when you look at these people together and you wonder what they say to each other...frank/Clare marriage appears to be a perfect partnership but it's twisted

Eliza22 · 27/03/2014 14:27

I used to have hair like that. Sadly, the similarity ends right there.

Eliza22 · 27/03/2014 14:34

Hmm thinking of having it lopped but have just reached the stage where (growing it for the very last time) it will finally tie up/back. Problem is, that's ALL I do with it now! Would definitely be taking "Clair" pics to the hairdressers, if I'm brave enough Smile
What to do....what to do?

Do it Eliza!! (Would never have the guts!)

Oh my goodness - you should so do it Eliza! It would totally suit you!

helzapoppin2 · 30/03/2014 20:24

Oh, yes, Robin Wright! She is my girl crush.

LordPalmerston · 30/03/2014 20:27

Yes. Ages ago not many replies. :(

Eliza22 · 30/03/2014 21:57

Yep, tempted now. Have been at a family "do" today and when I've just glanced at the pics, my longer, darker hairdo does drain my face. Will give it some though. It was expensive to maintain though!

Darkchocsprinkles · 30/03/2014 23:05

Oh - do it, Eliza. It will look stunning on you Smile

Coumarin · 31/03/2014 02:20

Envy Eliza

Coumarin · 31/03/2014 02:24

Your hair is gorgeous in those pics. So classy. If that's the look you want to go back to then do it. If you look like that now then leave it.

Eliza22 · 31/03/2014 08:00

Aww, thank you ladies. As I said in another hair thread, I started growing it because I felt I needed something to hide behind. My son's been really ill (still is) and I'd had a lot of stress family-wise. I seemed to age overnight, became very reclusive and no, I don't look like that at the moment! Up to that photo, just before my 50th, I'd have said I was ageing well. I'm 52 now and have gone to the dogs!

Darkchocsprinkles · 31/03/2014 09:32

I'm sorry you've had such a rough time, Eliza. I am sure you are every bit as beautiful as before but maybe you deserve a little extra TLC to help you feel like your old self again.

It's easy to write all this S&B stuff off as frivolous but when life throws stuff at you it can be a very welcome distraction. You are beautiful Wink

Eliza22 · 31/03/2014 12:10

Darkchoc you're right. S&B is all a bit of nonsense really but I do feel even worse when I'm "undone" as it were. Am off out now and this pic is my darker (mouse blonde) scraped back into a slide (because that's where it lives now). Kind of a "nothing" hairdo really but I can't be doing with it dangling round my shoulders.

Claire Underwood, interestingly, seems to wear pearls a lot. Someone told me years ago that they're a good face brightener, for the permanently dull of complexion and I've worn them ever since. I always buy cheap ones because that way, you can bin them when they tarnish due to perfume or hairspray use. Little tip there! Wink

Darkchocsprinkles · 31/03/2014 17:06

Lol - I remember watching Margaret Thatcher giving that very same tip about pearls: though I suspect hers were the real deal [w

Wink

You have amazing bone structure, Eliza Envy. Go for it, if it's what you want. You will look stunning x

TSSDNCOP · 31/03/2014 19:58

Love Clair she's so edgily self controlled. I have her hair, but not her bone structure. Frankly RW would look good in a sack. And in HOC she's frickin scary. I felt really quite scared for the Chief Whip and First Lady.
