Come hither small busts and bra interventionists, I think this might (nearly) be the one!

Can I introduce the Triumph amourette 300. I'm wearing a 32C and it's the best fit I've found so far for my non-existent, low-volume, BF boobs. I think it's the vertical seam that does it. It's only downfall is that the band only fits on the tightest setting (so will only get saggier) - if it came in a 30D, it would be perfect.

Bra interventionists - what do you think, is it on your list? Can you recommend anything similar, or even better, in a 30D?

I'm 28 inches underbust and currently in an A,

mummymia21 · 25/03/2014 14:11

Ah yeah I have the same problem - I'm in an A but it's gaping. I definitely need to have a look at this link. Thanks for sharing

StatisticallyChallenged · 25/03/2014 14:12

Ok if you were fitted at a 32a You probably measure about 33 overbust?

mummymia21 · 25/03/2014 14:15

I think that's about right -32/33. I have a piece of ribbon and a ruler as can't find my tape measure for love nor money.

StatisticallyChallenged · 25/03/2014 14:18

In that case you should try 28d and 28dd. Before you conclude that I am off my trolley, Google the bra band project. Website of the same name with pictures of women in bras that fit properly -you can select the size you want.

WheresItTo · 25/03/2014 14:19

Thanks, StatisticallyChalleneged I will take a look. Smile

Apologies for spelling your name wrong... Blush

I've just read that blog and it does seem to make a lot of sense. I can't believe I've never heard of it before. I'm going to go and try a few on in the week...I can't quite get my head around the fact that I could be a DD but alas if it works for everyone else I'll certainly give it a go.

PickledLily · 25/03/2014 15:31

Ok, I've just ordered a load of bras from Figleaves; I'll report back! Let us know how you get on too mummymia, Summer and everyone else.

Thanks Sorrel and Statistically for your help :)

Will do! Looking forwards to having a good reason to treat myself to some posh new undies sets!

Basketofchocolate · 26/03/2014 19:11

Have looked at the link. Have never been officially measured anywhere, just tried some on.

The calculations on there still make me a 34A. Only revelation I found post-BF is that underwiring is just pointless. Unfortunately nice lacy ones mean post-BF nipples so trying to find solid/not lacy/not 'padded' cups with no underwiring in my size is still quite tricky.

PickledLily · 29/03/2014 10:24

Ok, reporting back. It's official, Sorrel and Statistically are spot on!

I tried:
Lepel Fiore balconette 30D - perfect fit!
Lepel Fiore balconette 32C - too big on band and cup
Lepel Fiore full cup 30D - not as snug a fit (because not padded?) but as it is in the sale, I'm am keeping it
Midnight Grace Holly 32B - cups not wide enough
Midnight Grace Holly 32C - cups and band too big
Freya Dotty 30D - v tight on band, massivooo cups, not a hope in hell of filling!
Unfortunately couldn't get alternative suitable sizes to try in the Freya or Midnight Grace
So there we have it. I really am a D cup (never thought I'd say that)! Thank you!

Oh no! After wearing the Lepel for a little while, the ends of the wire started to dig in and rub. They come further up under my arm than the Triumph. So that's a no to the Lepel after all Sad

Are you sure it's not that you just need to get used to it? IME new bras always take a little bit of getting used to - it's a bit like breaking in new shoes, they all have their own unique pressure points.

ImAThrillseekerHoney · 30/03/2014 17:25

I would like to second the Triumph Amourette for the small of nork. I was intervened by a lovely young lady in John Lewis out of my M&S 34AAs and into a 32B Triumph Amourette (I 3rewould probably also fit a 30C, but the 32Bs are fine). Three or four years later it's still doing sterling work

AuditAngel · 30/03/2014 17:37

I took myself out yesterday as I needed a new strapless bra (going on a cruise and after 3DC I can no longer go commando under strapless dresses Grin )

I am a size 20 but having lost a stone thought I needed a smaller size. I bought (after measuring myself and trying on loads) M&S budget t-shirt bras size 38F, Debenhams Gorgeous range strapless bra 40F

I was surprised that I was still an F.

I like the gorgeous bras being high under the arm as I have a lot of breast tissue under my arms that I need to hoik into my bra cups and this means it stays in the cup rather than bulging over.

PickledLily · 30/03/2014 20:09

Not sure I could get used to the Lepel wires - they have left red sores (and blocked ducts to boot). May try again in the appropriate size once I've given up breastfeeding.
