Having recently discovered the lacura serum, I'm completely impressed! hydrates my skin really well for a grand total of £3.49! Also have to mention revlon colourstay, which I think is a bit of a favourite on here anyway Grin
I was wondering if anyone else has any budget buys they were impressed with?

Dove soap and Nivea (half price in tesco at the mo).

Cheesyslice · 23/03/2014 20:16

Nivea soft.

Can't get on with the creme in the dark blue tub. It's like moisturising with thick, white sludge.

TheJumped · 23/03/2014 20:22

Nivea blue pot lover here too - I use it every night.

Olive oil for deep conditioning hair. I did have coconut oil but olive oil seems to do the same thing and I have it in the kitchen anyway!

Rimmel Lycra Pro nail polishes.

Bourjois Healthy Mix serum foundation.

MUA lipsticks and eye palettes.

geekonthehill · 24/03/2014 09:50

Oooo I'm looking for something to use instead of Eve Lom daily moisturiser, I love it but it is costly and budgeting is needed.
I need non greasy.
Anything worth trying?

PenguinsEatSpinach · 24/03/2014 10:05

Superdrug Hot Cloth cleanser- fab stuff and the Vitamin E is on 'buy one, get the second half price' at the moment.

I like their radiance moisturiser too, but then I'm not fussy on moisturiser. I have combination skin and just like something light and non-greasy. Does the job for me and think it's about £3 a pot at the moment, so no big loss if you don't like it.

MUA Undress Me Too palette.

Maybelline mascaras.

SundaySimmons · 24/03/2014 12:18

Petroleum jelly for nails. A quid for a huge pot. See my nails thread. My nails look fantastic.

LilyRose88 · 24/03/2014 13:21

I love the Boots Natural Collection mascara and eye shadow. I also use the Superdrug Natural Radiance Hot Cloth cleanser and eye cream. Oh and Collection 2000 does a great smoky eye palette in grey that is decent.

Crutchlow35 · 24/03/2014 13:25

Carmex

Superdrug vitamin e stuff. Saving me a fortune from Liz Earle.

Gatekeeper · 24/03/2014 13:31

ohh Kudzugirl I wish we could get Neutrogena Rainbath here in UK. I was once given a travel sized bottle of it and it smells heavenly

Gatekeeper

You can find it in independent chemists but you'll need to keep your eyes peeled. I have found it in Southwold recently. Holland & Barrett also sell it too, in my local branch.

It is one of those little treasures I thought was worth mentioning in case people saw it on their travels.

BornToFolk · 24/03/2014 14:04

MUA eyeshadow palettes and eyeliners. Especially the eyeliner, it goes on very smoothly and has the little sharpener in the lid so you never have to hunt around for one.

I have an Alid serum too. It's different to the one linked by the OP. It's fine but I don't really notice much difference in my skin.

Sudocrem. It's the best thing on spotty skin.

Gatekeeper · 24/03/2014 14:04

right then...I am on a mission this weekend

thank you Smile

ThatBloodyWoman · 24/03/2014 14:05

Another vote for Nivea Soft.

Kudzugirl · 24/03/2014 14:05

If you like, PM me an address and when I next see some I can send it to you. Or Amazon stock it I do believe.

Gatekeeper · 24/03/2014 14:23

thank you; will pm you if I can't find any in next couple of weeks. Amazon do sell it but is shipped from USA

justwantitmadeforme · 24/03/2014 14:31

keep meaning to try the superdrug MUA eyeshadows, their pallets are supposed to be a good dupe of the urban decay naked pallet. Smile

I will have to look out for the hot cloth cleanser, off to have a look online..

southbank · 25/03/2014 14:18

Great thread, made a list of a few bits to try!
My favourite budget items right now are these, and I used to be a real designer product junkie!
-mellor and Russell macadamia body lotion, picked this up in Poundland!one of the best lotions ive ever used, however always out of stock since I bought it so need to stock up if I see it again
-Argan oil shampoo and conditioner I got from Lidl a few weeks ago-can't remember the brand, brown bottle with a green lid-really wonderful stuff
-Osiris avise bb cream shade light-thought it was a bargain in Lidl at £1.99,since seen it in the bloody poundshops!I have very very fair pink toned skin and this stuff is just amazing.
Using bicarbonate of soda as a face scrub-feels like using an expensive microdermabrasion product,so so cheap but amazing results, think I read it on here.
-mua cover and conceal from Superdrug I think less than £3 again just an amazing product that works unbeleivably well on my pink skin!

acsec · 16/04/2014 20:34

Southbank I bought that Lidl Argan oil shampoo and conditioner and my friend, who I've not seen for a couple of weeks greeted me with 'Wow, acsec, your hair looks fab!'

I've used Nivea Soft on my face since I was about 15, and am 31 now, though when I was out for my birthday people guessed I was 25 so it's obviously working well enough!

ladymalfoy · 16/04/2014 20:42

Em84 what else do you use the botty butter for? Everything? I've used it on my hands and elbows. Can you use it as a cleanser?

FolkGirl · 17/04/2014 07:49

Olive oil.

For absolutely everything!!

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 17/04/2014 08:21

Maybelline Stiletto mascara, Maybelline gel nail Polish, Lucas law paw ointment, M&S Formula Age Repair moisturiser. I just bought the Loreal thickening shampoo that Sali Hughes recommended and it's v good too.
