Slim/Straight Fit instead of skinnies?

I have tried. Honestly I have. And skinnies are cool with boots.

But now. Boots are being put away for the spring/summer...converse/pumps are emerging again. And I just so, so do not have the figure for skinnies and no boots.

Am about 5'4 size 10-12. Broad shoulders, not much of a waist, slimmish thighs...all so good until we come to my calf muscles - which are there. Too much. And skinny ankle. So the silhouette just looks boak. . Just too much tight stuff over muscly calf (hidden/broken up perfectly with boots).

So just tried some slim fit jeans. Perfect. Far more comfortable for my calf region and I think looks sooo much better.

I am just beginning to take an interest in what I look like again after a few years of anxiety/depression. Do I have to persevere with the skinnies? Will I look frumpy/mumsy sticking with what I think looks best? I am somewhat out of touch - and a bit low on confidence....so gently thoughts please.

I got the Next Relaxed Skinnies this week too. They were recommended on here after I asked about something reasonably priced and loose to wear whilst I loose baby weight.

In actual fact I really like them and I think I'll get some more colours and stick with them once I've dropped the extra dress size.

Thanks Medusa! DD is 10 weeks and my prepregnancy size 12s are too tight, but 14s are way too loose. I was saying yesterday that I need a 13, so they sound ideal!

sotired I got mine at a local shop (SE London) that stocks them, and they were something like £85 there, so although I haven't looked around much, they're probably much of a muchness price-wise. JL always good service and easy to return though, of course god I'm middle classGrin

They're pretty true to size I suppose. I'm a 26" in Gap skinnies, and also bought some A&G 26" which are a little bit big. But got the Lee ones in 27" - so maybe they do come up a bit smaller than some US brands. But I've had them a few months now and they also don't stretch after washing, which many do, so the slightly larger size hasn't mattered.

Sorry, what a long boring post! But HTH.
