Bravissimo don't use a tape at all -they have you there with a massive range of bras so they literally find one which fits you. However what they look for in terms of band size etc tends to give a size remarkably close to the intervention

Bravissimo fitted me by eye wearing my usual bra. The assistant said it can take up to 3 tries to get the size correct but got mine right first time, as did Sorrel, based on doing the measuring thang as instructed on the bra intervention threads.
Whilst I was there a few people insisted on walking out of the shop in their new bra! I reckon it must be a fun job fitting bras at that shop.

Update: these new bras have horrified my dd (14).
One has been pronounced as "leather" and another as "see thru".
Honestly, I got them from Bravissimo. They are completely mainstream!!!

I would love to see Bravissimo sell a leather bra! Unlikely!

Think teenage girls tend to forget mum is still a woman!

Which ones did you buy Snog?!

Sorrel, so I scooped in my 34DD and I had slight overspill and the straps dug into my shoulders...what does this mean, does it affect whether I should be going for 32F?

My "leather" bra is actually black satin, and the see thru number is coral lace!!! I daren't hang them outside to dry now I realise how superkinky they areWink

Makes a 32F sound about right. Volume wise, a 34DD is the same as a 32E, so the 32F would give you one extra cup size.

After 10 hours my new bra feels tight and uncomfy and slightly itchy and I cant wait to take it off. Hopefully I will get used to this! Shock

SorrelForbes · 23/03/2014 18:29

I find that new bras often need a few wears to become comfy. In addition, if you've had a fairly drastic change inb size, the bra will be sitting on areas of skin that are not used to having anything sat there. Give it a bit of time.

I often have a few 'scoops' throughout the day to make sure everything is still were it should be. If the band starts to feel uncomfortable, I find that a quick scoop sorts it out!
