sick of the damage that baring my legs is doing to my eyesight every summer - that white dazzle is too much! but I have always been terrified of fake tan. my old flatmate used to have permanent rust coloured ankles and orange stripes between her toes. plus my skin is dry and I worry it would be patchy.

so I thought if I start now using a gradual moisturising type tan then I might get a slight build up by the time legs get bared.

which give a light natural look?

Fake Bake is a lovely tan, up there with St Tropez. The best way to use it is to put it on at night before bedtime and shower is off in the morning then you will be left with a lovely golden tan.

Just been to Wilkos at lunchtime and noticed that they have St Moritz in a lotion, a mousse and a spray. Has anyone tried the lotion? This one:

the st moritz foam is better than the lotion

OP - if you're looking for a gradual tanner then you can't go wrong with the dove one. start with the lighter one and see how you like that. the other one I like is by the people who do the cocoa butter cream, palmers?

MrsMarigold · 19/03/2014 17:20

Ok I'm also a fake tan virgin and I don't have a shower only a bath could I get the residue off in the bath or do you really need to shower?

Has anyone mentioned cocoa brown??
Fabulous stuff

A mouse and it's fabulous. I hate fake tan but this one you cannot go wrong with.

It's stocked in primark super drug and feel unique

It's truly truly fabulous.

OP if you have dry skin then stay away from any tanning mousse it really does dry your skin out. A lotion is much more moisturising! Most gradual tanners do a good job, I particularly like the palmers one. Also a gradual May be best if you are a virgin as something like st moriz has quite a dark colour guide and could be a bit scary for your first attempt.

Marigold a bath is fine, just be prepared to have very murky water!

Ilovecoodomol · 20/03/2014 11:20

Murky water and a lovely big brown tan line around the bath that looks like you are a dirt bird that hasn't washed in a month. Beware of this if you are a guest in somebody's house!

not trying to hijack the thread but does anyone know how I get the FT to "stick" to my legs? Two applications in two days and they're still really pale Confused, the rest of me is a lovely colour!

BornLippy · 20/03/2014 12:52

Exfoliate your legs every day for a week, making sure to moisturise after. Then apply the tan to exfoliating but not moisturised legs. You may need to double the application on your legs. So 1 layer on body = 2 on legs, etc.
