dermalogica- intensive moisture balance

I suffer from flaky, tight, dehydrated and generally unhappy skin. Much, much worse at this time of year thanks to changes in temperature, central heating etc.

I drink gallons of water, have a diet high in "good" fats (olive oil, oily fish, avocado etc) don't have a sweet tooth, small amounts of caffeine and alcohol; my skin has always been like this, copious amounts of moisturising ever since I was very young

I tried a few dermalogica products, and decided to purchase the ultra calming cleanser (which is why I approached the counter) and got a few samples to try as well.

I used the intensive moisture balance sample yesterday and I'm completely sold, initially really greasy and shiny, before it soothed and smoothed my skin perfectly. No more clagging foundation, hurrah!

Basically its great, but it is really at the very top end of my budget and wondered if anyone knew of something similar? TIA

Don't know of anything similar, I think its one of those things you get what you pay for. Usually with Dermalogica you only need very small amounts, so cost per use makes it go further iusim. If it is looking greasy and shiny on application, you may be using too much at a time?

Also, if you are buying it from a salon, you are paying quite a bit more than if you are buying from Amazon, or Purebeauty, or one of the other Jersey sites.

My skin is similar but also very sensitive and I find Eucerin lipobalance is excellent.

Not sure you'll find anything similar tbh, it's a great product and you get what you pay for with dermatologica. A small amount does go far however. I usually flit between expensive and cheap just to keep the costs down.

Also, have you tried hot cloth cleansing?

Dermalogica is worth every penny.

Try Oqibo, they do two moisturisers both are great for dry and dehydrated skin. One is a bit heavier than the other so choice maybe depends on whether you are dry, dehydrated or both.
