Ok genuine question. Can anyone explain why one of these is chiller- cabinet cool and the other is, um, not?

Its been done though already. Isn't fashion supposed to take inspiration from the past, not completely copy every element.

There are nirvana tshirts and long dad cardis in the shops FFS!

Fashion is really taking the piss out of the youth now, more than ever.

The topshop skirt reminds me of that awful Diana photo when she was a nanny and the sun shone straight through it.

We'll all be back in bias-cuts next.
And chenille jumpers.
And long-length linen shirts, worn like a jacket.

Personally I think the Topshop one has an air of the Bon Marche about it whereas the other one is a bit Home Economics teacher.

LightastheBreeze · 07/03/2014 18:45

I see the M&S one is in the 'Classic' dept. Isn't that for the very old customers of M&S, Even older than Per Una Grin

peasandlove · 07/03/2014 19:32

it's the unflattering length of the M&S one. I quite like the fabric of the topshop one

AndTwoBits · 07/03/2014 19:51

The top shop one could be fab on a young person, styled properly (ironically?) I wouldn't know where to begin with it!
Don't even get me started on the Marks one.

cloudskitchen · 07/03/2014 22:41

I think they're both yukky Grin

Coumarin · 08/03/2014 03:50

Both are horrible imo.

But the TS one is a better shape. It goes in at the waist, the buttons down the centre draw the eye to the centre and it looks like it would move nicely.

The M&S one is completely shapeless, had no waist and what it does have is bloody elasticated.

It's a very fine line. I'm increasingly baffled by a lot of fashion. I'd put it down to age but I'm only early 30's. I think it's the 90's revival that's throwing me.

Coumarin · 08/03/2014 03:51

And yes, it's all gone a bit 'ironic' and who can be arsed with that past the age of 21?
