What to wear for night out in London-Oxo tower?

DH and I have a (child-free!) weekend in London this weekend. We have booked a meal at the oxo tower tomorrow night and plan on having drinks in the bar first. How dressy is it? Day dress or more like going out clubbing dress? I was thinking of wearing a navy blue shift dress which has cream lace overlay across the middle (to look like a belt but its just stitched on) with nude heels. What do you think?
Other options would be:
Grey linen peplum style halterneck dress
black one shoulder dress with flared skirt
green fitted dress with lace bits and sequins (bit 'Christmas do' I think)
coral dress sleeveless dress with deep v neck with black belt (this is a bit big though so I keep hoiking it up).
any thoughts appreciated.

Smart casual? Not too dressy. More trendy.

Have been there with a friend a long time ago.

He: Blazer, trousers and shirt.

Me: A-line skirt & smart top.

Are you eating in the restaurant or the brasserie?

Definitely smart casual and trendy rather than 'dressy', even in restaurant. Low key stylish. Lots of people will have come straight from work on a Friday.

I think one shoulder or halter neck dresses would be way OTT. And definitely not sequins. A day dress made more evening-y, eg with a statement necklace, would be better. Or nice jeans or trousers with silky top.

Shift dress might be OK if lace doesn't make it more 'wedding-y'. Nice ankle boots and opaques would be a better accompaniment than nude heels, IMO, but then I'm not a fan of nude heels.

Thanks all. Hmm I don't think I could be described as trendy as a month of sundays! Good point about people having come from work. I do have a black dress which is more 'work wear' but could be accessorised, that might work. Eating in the brasserie not the much more expensive restaurant.

Definitely go for the 'accessorised work wear' look, then, IMO.

The restaurant isn't much more dressy tbh, only difference is would wear nice jeans in the bar/brasserie.

Agreed with above posters. London in general much less dressy than other cities, so always dress slightly down! Enjoy, it is LOVELY there!

I once called a Michellin starred restaurant to find out if it would be ok for dh to wear jeans - they laughed and said he could wear anything he liked! And people dressed in all sorts, older retired people tend to get really dressed up whereas younger people tend to do jeans heels or trainers. If you want to wear a dress go for it, I never get the feeling anyone really cares in London.

No, no one does mind, that's true. But if you want to feel comfortable / fit in, it's best to avoid an over dressed up look for reasons everyone has given.
