Size 9 feet limits my spend

trotskymow · 10/08/2006 13:28

I bought one pair of shoes so far this year - black sandolls for £40. that's it. Otherwise, live in birkies that are 3 years old, or trainers I bought 1 1/2 years ago/knee high boots I bought in Nov. 03. How sad. And DH still moans!

Tommy · 10/08/2006 13:30

blimey! I know more than 10 women but am sure none of them spends that much
This year I have bought:
1 pair toe-post wedges £40

er.... that's it

ah Tommy that's the evil of statistics - it's like hearing that more people speak Mandarin than any other language and thinking 'well, I don't know anyone who does'

trinityrhino · 10/08/2006 13:36

I definitely don't

I have at the mo just bought a new pair of trainers on sale were £22 now £10

I also own a pair of sandaly things that were £9

earlier in the year I bought a different pair of trainers for £15

thats all for this year

GaribaldiCusack · 10/08/2006 13:36

I don't think I spend £1000 but I probably would if I could

this year have bought (that I can remember offhand):
HObbs green shoes (gorgeous) - £130
Hobbs brown mary jane heels - £50 (sale bargain)
Noa Noa smart black concert shoes - £100
Brown boots from M&S - £35
Tesco espadrille wedges (fab) - £15
Jigsaw smart black shoes - £40 (sale)

so £370. But I'm sure there are more...

MercyTung · 10/08/2006 13:39

So far this year I have spent £00.00 on shoes for myself.

lorina · 10/08/2006 14:03

So far this year I have bought

orange strappy sandals £35
hiking boots £50

Shoe shopping is my least favourite shopping

Bozza · 10/08/2006 15:36

Hey you lot I was including the last 12 months. Think some of you are cheating. So it included the things I bought for autumn last year and my going out shoes for last winter.

MrsBadger · 10/08/2006 15:41

me too!

we want to hear last calendar year, not 'since jan'

(NB Malory, who are the mad ones?)

babyonboard · 10/08/2006 15:50

I would if I could but I can't

NomDePlume · 10/08/2006 15:50

Nowhere near... I think so far in the last 12 months I have bought (in no particular order)

Brown kitten heeled boots - £60
Brown footbed toeposts - £12
Red patent dolly shoes - £25
Puma trainers - £54.99
Gym trainers - £30
White low toe post wedges - £20

So that's £201.99. Disappointingly below par...

JonesTheSteam · 10/08/2006 15:51

Have just worked out that I've spent
£265 on shoes and had about £90 spent on me (birthday presents from my parents and DH)

JonesTheSteam · 10/08/2006 15:52

That's since last August

GaribaldiCusack · 10/08/2006 15:53

the last calendar year?
That easily doubles what I wrote before. I had more money before Christmas!

Marne · 10/08/2006 15:53

[sock]

I never spend more than £15-£20 on a pair of shoes!

I would'nt spend that much in a life time.

Have spent loads on shoes for dd1 though.

babyonboard · 10/08/2006 15:54

I have spent a reasonable amount on baby shoes, which is sad as ds is only 8 months and only needs socks

RowlersX · 10/08/2006 15:54

I am so glad I'm not the only one who has spent £0 on shoes this year
Problem is I spend significantly more on DD now than on myself
I hate shopping

Marne · 10/08/2006 15:54

Not sock, , in so much i typed too fast.

Bozza · 10/08/2006 16:05

babyonboard I never spent a penny on baby shoes until my children were out and about. Believe me you will spend plenty soon enough.

MrsBadger · 10/08/2006 16:06

now have terrible mental images of mothers slogging through snow in ancient holey trainers with tiny pram-bound children in smart leather shoes.

Madness!

babyonboard · 10/08/2006 16:11

lol...at 'hole ridden trainers' or whatever it was
It's not quite like that!

I have bought some lovely 'pram shoes' which he wore in winter as it was freezing and some he occasionally wears now (but prefers to take off and eat)

DP has bought lots of (admittedly really cute) size 3 shoes from baby gap (not realising he'll have his feet measured and we'll be buying 'proper' shoes by the time he needs them) ...ah well..

Frizbe · 10/08/2006 16:18

I would spend lots of shoes if I had it, but I don't! which is why I'm to be found shuffling around in shoddy flip flops most of the time dd1 on the other hand has had 3 pairs so far this year, and ss 4!
