A lip tint/stain that lasts

MTBMummy · 19/02/2014 19:06

I have no luck when it comes to lipstick, try as I might I cannot find one that stays on.

I really like lip tints and stains as they don't feel as claggy as lipstick, especially for just wearing day to day, but they all seem to fade to nothingness within an hour

Does anyone have one they can recommend that seems to last? I'm happy to pay for something that works

Thanks

I think I'm a bit loads older than I imagine you lot are.

Do any of these stay where you put them rather than bleed into the wrinkles around the mouth?

Thanks.

I'm 55. I use a lip brush. It stays!

I like Maybelline 24hr stay - I wish they did more colours.

I have no luck with lipstick either generally but the revlon colour stay suede lipsticks stay is the best I've ever tried. it's quite mat though not not much good if you want a shimmer. It's also quite dry.

Topshop lip and cheek tint is a cracker at a scanty 6 quid - lasts all day. And I chew my lips.

For people who like bright red and pink I can 100% recommend Limecrime velvetines, I wear the red version daily and once it's on in the morning I have to scrub it off with a flannel to go to bed at night. I also recommend the maybelline 24hour lipsticks especially the two step versions, I'm very lazy and never retouch my make up during the day so they come in very handy for me :)

Rootypig, could you check your YSL colour no 29 as I cant find it anywhere...might it be 9 or 19 instead? Thanks!

I bought shade 106 because I wanted to start off with a safe shade.

This site shows it most like it does on me:-

I put it on today at 12.30 and it was still on at 5.00. I mean, come on...that's cool!

AntoinetteCosway · 21/02/2014 21:35

The YSL Glossy Stains are miraculous. Bloody amazing. The bright red in particular is superb. I always use them on brides.

lovingmatleave · 21/02/2014 23:05

Max Factor Lipfinity good staying power, but personally I'm not that keen on the colours available.

littlelime · 22/02/2014 07:25

Definitely benetint. Lasts so well you can't get it off and a little goes a long way. Expensive but worth every penny.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 22/02/2014 09:44

Thank you, I'll go and look at those today.

And I'll buy a lipbrush!

rootypig · 24/02/2014 22:39

urban it is 29, but they do limited editions each season as well as the main palette

MTBMummy · 25/02/2014 08:52

Thanks all, sorry for posting and running, I put this up in my last week of work and then things got manic as everyone panicked about me taking mat leave

I use benefit benetint the original one and it doesn't stay for more than 30 minutes, I have tried using lip brushes and it makes no difference.

Will check out YSL and the revlon ones, hopefully they'll let me try them and come back another day once I've checked it's staying power
