Moving from mineral make up to liquid foundation

Looking for suggestions, please. Have been wearing mineral make up for years but feel its too drying, chalky and mask like now.
I've got dry, ageing, sensitive skin. I'm looking for something to give a dewy look with medium coverage, moisturising and with SPF.

Considering Bobbi Brown Moisture Rich, Chanel Lumiere, Estee Lauder Double Wear. I've read reviews of them all........all have devotees and detractors. Any others?

ELDW will probably be too heavy for you. I'm 41 (dry and very sensitive skin) and switched to minerals because liquid foundation started looking too heavy and accentuated the changing texture of my skin. I'm getting good results with minerals (I use mineral concealer on the few discolorations I have and mineral foundation very sparingly and fixing them with a mist of Avene Thermal Water - that gets rid of the chalky texture).

Chanel Vitalumiere went really patchy and ugly on my skin around 3pm, Lift Lumiere was better but still patchy and unsightly at the end of the day. Bourjois Heathy Mix accentuated my nonexistent pores and made me look sweaty and orange. Dior Nude and Forever were great but gave me a nasty contact allergy after just a month of use... Revlon Colorstay Dry/Normal, Revlon Whipped Cream and Bourjois Flower Perfection are all great full-coverage foundations, but right now I feel they were too heavy for daily use. Last summer, I got the best results with tinted LRP Anthelios sunscreen used over concealer.

My MIL has fantastic skin at 70+ and she swears by EL Daywear tinted moisturizer.

Clinique better than make up is pretty good.

I'm on my 3rd bottle of YSL Touche Eclat, and don't see myself ever leaving it for another product. I've tried Estee L (very heavy), Chanel and Armani (pretty good) in recent years but the TE is a perfect product for me (I'm 43 and often mistaken for younger - when I have my make-up on I hasten to add). It just makes my skin look smooth, fresh and glowy. What more could you ask for... You will be given a sample bottle of your chosen shade to try for a few days to see how you go with it before you splurge!) I always go a shade lighter than the sales rep suggests as I'm very pale, know what works for me, and have a deep and abiding fear of The Orange.

I've just moved onto Bare Minerals and understand the chalky experience you describe however i have managed to counter this by spritzing Body Shop Vitamin E spray on my face afterwards (i've used this FOREVER by the way) - it really stops the mineral make up appearing dry - just a thought if you are happy with it apart from the dryness.

Thanks so much everyone for the suggestions. I have the body shop vit E facial spray. Never occurred to me to use it over the mineral stuff. You live and learn! Will give it a try before I splurge on the liquid stuff. I'll also ask for samples. Thanks, all.
Anyone any experience with Bobbi Brown?

I love Bobbi Brown, I've got yellowy tinged skin and the match is perfect. The one I have at the moment is called something like Skin. It suits my ageing dry, skin but I wouldn't say it was very long wearing.

I use Bobbi Brown color corrector in my undereye area and set it with mineral powder (without powder, it creases like crazy). I go easy with mineral makeup in the areas where I have fine wrinkles. The spraying afterwards changes everything! You can use Vit E, tap water, Avene thermal water or rose water...

If your skin is very dry, moisturizing before is a must too. I put on a moisturizer right after I wake up so after breakfast everything has sinked in and I can do my quick makeup routine.

Finding a matching liquid foundation is a nightmare if you are very pale and cool-toned - minerals have much better shade range ime.

Origins CC cream is fab - very moisturising/dewy and all natural ingredients like the mineral makeup (I react to 'ingredients' and have switched from minerals for same reason ie powdery)
