A "non wedding" wedding dress!

My mum is getting married, she's in her 50s and its her 2nd wedding so she doesn't want a white bridal dress. She has something in her mind but has yet to find what she's looking for, so I'm bringing the challenge to you clever people!

Her idea is a long evening type gown, with sleeves, in either a gold or a green or purple/red. She doesn't have a budget as such, but ideally less than £500 but she will pay more for the right dress!

Show me what you got Grin

Ooo sent her all of those too! She's gonna get a shock when she logs into Facebook later Grin

Colour wise, the wedding theme is autumnal so anything that fits in that really. She likes red but not too bright! And yy she likes lace!

I would get married again to wear the first of those three navy gowns Grin

Red Alexon.

Haven't clicked all links so apologies if linked to earlier.

That's lovely but a bad colour for DM. She has a reddy skin tone and in bright red looks like a tomato!!

This is very dark navy, but very beautiful? Alice Temperley

Lj8893 · 18/02/2014 21:44

Think its probably a little too dark (but very pretty, I love all the temperley dresses) but I will send it to her anyway!

Ah, see that's a great help. TBH I don't think blue / purple really fits the theme.

gold, finally
blue anyway
very autumnal. it's bit odd on the hanger but it looks like the cut is fab.
this I love and link regularly. Probably not what she's after. the long version comes in navy
navy lace and satin
off piste but utterly lovely
navy lace again
teal with matching jacket
deep red with its jacket
might have had this one already

Lj8893 · 18/02/2014 22:14

Wow! Love the gold one and the phase 8 one!!!

Although at 5'5-6" it might be better to take photos to a seamstress and have something made to suit her figure and height?

Lots of lovely dresses on this thread for your mom.
