Swimwear SOS!

Hello ladies I am after a bit of help re swimwear.

Im off on holiday in 4 weeks and have put on an awful lot of weight recently so am a much curvier version of my usual self!

I need a new swimming costume needs to be one piece and preferably something that flatters my curves, isnt too plain (so no speedo esque) type but holds me in. I quite like the 50s style that are around I tried one from the Kelly Brook range and it was a disaster just showed every lump and bump.

Any recommendations? I dont mind spending a bit of money on it to hopefully give me a bit more confidence.

Yes! I have just bought a new swimsuit from debenhams that might be the right thing for you. It was £38 so not cheap, but well worth it IMO. It is a one piece, but looks like a tankini and has tummy control. It is strapless but comes with straps and is very flattering.

Oh and there are a couple of other patterns, a blue paisley and something else, but I found this pattern to be the best for disguising my wobbly bits. I have a four month old baby and an awful mummy tummy and muffin top, and I really don't look half bad in it! I'm a size 18 if that helps.

Oh, I recommend this site every time a swimwear question comes up but here. It's the most flattering swimwear known to man :)

I have a great costume that I got on John Lewis a couple of years ago, it is a tummy control one and was around £40 I think

Speedo actually do very "nice suck your fat bits in" swimsuits. I've had two and they are lovely, not the usual racer back flat front types! Speedo Sculpture range.

Yes, I agree about the Esther Williams suits (as seen in DoYonisHangLow's link), I have this one and it's brilliant and so flattering that I actually feel confident in it!

OTOH I bought this one first but it was an utter disaster.

Sorry, for clarity, the suit I had first wasn't an Ester Williams but a Girl Howdy, the print it great but there was no support nor the old norks or holding in of the stomach. Quality wasn't up to much either. Sent the damned thing back.

These are perfect. I'm going to get ordering some online to try them!

I was going to recommend the Speedo Sculpture range too. Spendy but really work and last for ages without losing their shape. So a good investment if you will be swimming regularly.
