My dilemma: which do I get? Pls choose the styliest for me

Right, I am owed a lot of money and, thanks to the heinously painful delay in getting it, am determined to treat self when it arrives. So I've nailed the choice down to;

1. High street splurge on clothes and that for 160.00
2. This chair for the sitting room - I love it and it will do the neices and nephews proud, as well as my more petite friends. Plus I think it's lastingly chic and will go a lot longer than a bit of Gap and that.

Which is better for a bit of spring loveliness?

I'd go for some clothes and/or lovely accessories. Not too keen on the chair, sorry!

Don't like the chair. I'd buy either new boots or a new leather jacket, if I had £160 to splurge - or lovely new bedding.

Oh, I ache for the chair, see. It rolls up into a ball, which in my teeny flat, is a boon. Plus it is 50s Scandi, which I have a soft spot for.

Remus - you genius, I am also planning to get a swank 600TC duvet cover and pillows. They go for under 50 quid on Amazon, and I am so looking forward to it. The cat has shredded all my bedding, inc White Company, incidentally, but not the Frette (which I scored in TK maxx.)

Thing is, I still can't help thinking despite the lure of clothes, that I'd only get a couple of nice things for 160 and that the chair would be more fun for longer.

I was going to agree with the others but after your latest post I'd say it sounds like your heart is with the chair so go for it. High street clothes can be bought any time!

Go with what makes you happiest. Which sounds like the chair... And then have it stain proofed!

That's not a chair. Its an expensive piece of foam. Not a fan.

Get whichever will give you the most pleasure. Notice I said 'you' - not your petite friends or even your nieces and nephews! If it was me, it would be clothes every time. Also, as it's supposed to be a treat, I would just get one really nice piece - something that would normally be out of my league.

Uh, sorry, IMO the "chair" looks awful... and I say that as a Scandinavian, a fellow retro Scandi design lover and as someone who has worked for a couple of Scandi furniture companies. Having had some personal experience of pieces of furniture that fold/"transform"/sit low on the floor like that, it doesn't look at all practical, comfy or usable in the long term, but I guess what I think doesn't matter if you really love it and think it will end up being used rather than be another thing to dust, cluttering up a small space . Have you tried it in real life?

If the chair is something you love and have wanted for ages then buy it!

I wouldn't buy high st clothes as a treat, I'd buy a really lovely pair of shoes or a gorgeous scarf or a beautiful leather wallet. Something you will keep and will enjoy when you use it.

I like the chair and am now considering getting it for DD's tiney room in our tiny flat.

That sort of chair doesn't really appeal to the 'average' and generally old fashioned British taste being a clearly European article, which is probably why you're getting such a hard time about it. People just don't get that sort of thing back home, IME.

It's clearly fab - I think you should go for it.

The company that makes it have got a EU eco-award, so I doubt it's just foam. Plus they've been featured in Wallpaper and Vogue so I reckon maybe it's just us Brits who are doubtful.

Like I said, I'm not your "average Brit" and I dislike it. For that price, I would get a piece of furniture that will last for generations and can be resurfaced or re-upholstered, rather than something with a soft core (be it foam or wool), which will inevitably disintegrate/sag sooner or later, and is hard to clean (so you will have to chuck it if it starts to smell of damp or gets wee/food/felt tip whatever on it too many times). But I guess, you have made up your mind. Go for it if you love it. :)

Oh, just noticed it was 1000 kr rather than pounds. Ok. Makes more sense now. Still.. very ugly form/concept over function, this.

I'm not British. I can't see any particularly comfortable way of sitting on it.
