Does Age 4 in Mini Boden mean 3-4 or 4-5?

My son is a very tall 3.5 year old so I don't know whether to get him trousers in Age 4 or 5.

I think mini boden comes up small. My very tall nearly 5 year old dd is wearing age 7-8 dresses from boden now.

These are jogging pants I'm looking at too so they are probably better too big than too small. It just feels a bit strange buying Age 5 when he's only 3.

Boden comes up quite small IMO. I'd say age 4 is 3-4, but a smallish 3-4; in your position I'd go for age 5.

I know! I only buy dd dresses there now. The jeans/ jeggings in the bigger sizes whilst being long enough are far too baggy because she is very tall and skinny.

Yes oden used to come up huge but last two seasons dd, who fits in an age 7 maybe a 7-8 elsewhere suddenly needs a 9-10 in boden (shes 8 in march), shes still a 7-8 with room in john lewis own brand, next, frugi etc.

but to answer the questions age 4 would translate to 3-4, 5= 4-5 etc
