Does anyone else dislike going to the hairdresser? Or spa treatments?

Just wondered if anyone else didn't like it or finds spa treatments boring? I dislike the hairdressers as everyone I have ever been to spends half the time trying to up sell me expensive products I don't need. I do like spa treatments but only occasionally. Wondered what you thought?

Have a good hairdresser now so that's become a better experience than it used to be.
Love massages and facials. Love the luxury of silence or floating off with my own thoughts. I find it wonderfully theraputic.
Only ever had one manicure and I could have done better myself so haven't been in a hurry to repeat it!

I don't mind the hairdresser, but I only have a wet cut so I'm in and out in half an hour.

Never had any other treatment, bI don't like the idea of people fiddling with parts of me at all and even though I am comfortably off it all seems unjustifiably expensive. Tried going to the spa at Center parcs but was bored stiff after half an hour or so.

I love most spa treatments (depends on therapist tho).

My colleague hates them as she can't bear someone else touching her but she has her legs waxed so that's someone touching you.

I hate them both. My hair is cut by a mobile hairdresser.

I am slightly scared of hairdressers, went to my first professional one when about 25 having been "encouraged" (frogmarched) by some friends. Have a good one now but have put off seeing him since last August...

Spas... Jury's out here. I like the Sanctuary for chatting with my friends and I'm lucky enough to live very close to Grayshott spa so have taken advantage of the serenity described by MrsDavidBowie above and that's lovely...

I used to hate hairdressers but I have a really nice one now and my kids and friend go to her too. I like it when she does the head massage! I go regularly for massages too. Find it all de-stressing but get nervous with drastic hair changes and have one coming up!

I would rather spend a bit of money on good products and DIY at home. I hate being touched by strangers and can't relax as I keep thinl

Sorry - I keep thinking of how much the "spa" experience is costing me! I haven't done it for 20 years. Hair, however, should be cut by a professional.

Hate the hairdressers. Sure those mirrors are the least flattering ones ever Grin
Love dermalogica facial at local salon, I don't have to talk and I usually drift off a bit
Like sports massages too
