what do you think about this one matched with black tailored jacket and grey mid heel courts?

It's for an academia-related position.

Opinions greatly appreciated!

I think you have linked to the wrong dress - link is coming up with a short dress.

ButICantaloupe · 03/02/2014 11:41

That isn't a maxi dress?!

That dress is ok, not particularly formal though.

HyvaPaiva · 03/02/2014 11:45

You've linked to a short lurex dress, not a maxi.

If that's the one you mean, I'm in academia and I don't think it's appropriate. It's both too informal and sparkly. I wouldn't be impressed if someone turned up to be interviewed wearing that, sorry.

I don't think it's suitable for an interview. What about a midi dress with tights like the first one you posted but in a plain colour

Aworryingtrend · 03/02/2014 11:59

Beautiful dress but really not suitable for an interview, its just a bit 'much'. You will be remembered as 'the woman in the long dress' rather than for your skills.

MarshaBrady · 03/02/2014 12:01

No I think it's a bit dressy and too much for an interview.

ButICantaloupe · 03/02/2014 12:06

No, its not suitable for an interview. Sorry! Smile

What is your budget & size? Might be able to help find something more appropriate.

So the verdict is out, thank you all!
It will have to be my old tailored trousers and shirt and jacket then.
No budget for clothes at the moment.
