ASOS - Quality?

What's it like?

Questionable! It's a real mixed bag with their own brand stuff and sizing is all over the place. I've has beautiful quality jersey dresses and appalling misprinted jersey dresses.

It's a case of ordering with an open mind and make use of free returns.

Agree, quality is very mixed. I find that the finish is often dodgy, so if you find something you like in a decent fabric, be prepared to sew hems etc. I got a lovely, 100% cotton navy Aran sweater from ASOS but I was sewing up the cuffs after the second wear.

I have only experienced shitesville quality although a friend assures me that some stuff is good quality.

I've also found the quality to be mixed, some things are really really good and others are dire. The free returns are good though so if you do order something and it's of poor quality, you can just send it back at no additional cost which is something I like.

Same here, very mixed. But if you choose free delivery, its worth trying them. I have a gorgeous coat from there, which is lovely fabric, dresses/tops etc have always been sent back.

I can't bear poor quality clothes and I'm a bugger for not returning things, even when the postage is free. There's a big time overhead repackaging things and then going to queue at the PO, etc, I mostly put it in the Oxfam bag. I'm beginning to buy less online as so much of it is a miss, for which I don't seek recompense.

I don't know how many of you do that? It's a whole other thread really.

i do that with some things, but can usually just post the ASOS stuff in a postbox. They are the only ones I don't mind returning things to, seem easier than most.

Remember you can take stuff to a collect+ newsagent too.

Agree that quality is mixed, but they are less guilt inducing than some shops over returns. I repack it as I try stuff on as otherwise it sits in a pile until the return deadline looms.

I don't live in the UK so if I buy over t'internet it's costly.... despite living on the next island and returns aren't free either.
My only ASOS purchase was atrocious quality.

I've only had poor quality items from ASOS and I don't use them at all now.

For those who had poor quality. Was it poor workmanship, poor fabric, poor pattern-cutting/sizing or all of the above?

Terrible quality. It's so disappointing, everything looks gorgeous in the photos on the site but then you open your parcel and it's all horrible synthetic Primark-like shite. I've stopped ordering from them now.
