And has it extended the life of your shoes and boots by a great deal?

I usually polish my boots after wearing them - so they are good to go next time - I think it's a good idea to keep leather nurtured - and as I don't buy cheap - I have to look after my investment ! Might not be quite so good if they were a cheap pair !!

I clean all our shoes weekly - definitely helps keep them looking better and the leather is protected against the rain each time too. I used to work in a shoe shop so I guess shoe cleaning and using sundries has just stuck with me!!
Also, DD is a nightmare for scuffing her shoes and I buy expensive Startrite ones for her so need to look after them.

Every Sunday night. But only the ones that need it...

DH does the shoes every Sunday....he's very good at it and they look fab.

monkeysmama · 02/02/2014 21:08

Dp does them most Sundays though I have lots of shoes so only a pair or two get done each week. I am struggling to clean my nubuck boots properly.

Very rarely. Only when they look noticeably scuffed

dementedma · 02/02/2014 21:49

Oh my goodness. Almost never!
Unless very muddy

I don't have a schedule but do them when they need it. I'll gather the household shoes/boots that need a spruce or waterproof. It's an easy chore that definitely prolongs use.

about once a week.
however, what makes the biggest difference is using a shoe tree. get it in as soon as you take the shoe/boot off, so the leather is still damp and warm.
