6 hours to come up with a new hairstyle - I challenge you!

Trying a new mobile hairdresser later. She's highly recommended. I haven't had a haircut for 11 months other than hacking away at it myself so it's pretty desperate.

My hair is very fine and it has a natural wave/curl if left to dry by itself. It's in dry and weak condition for the first time ever, probably the ravages of small children and crap lifestyle combined with regularly forgetting to rinse dye off before an hour has passed. Due to hair loss and breakage I have a million wispy short bits sticking up along my parting and hairline. It gets straightened once or twice a week.

It's currently below my shoulders, slightly shaped around my face. I have a side parting and a wee cow's lick to add insult to injury. I wear glasses and have a fat round face.

What do I ask for? It's going to be a boring bob isn't it?

I would absolutely go with what she advises, she'll see you afresh Grin

I would go for something that works with your natural wave - a messy bob that requires no styling - give your hair a much needed break - think Alexa Chung.

I love that idea Snowdown, but it's not quite wavy enough IYSWIM. It'll curl at the nape of my neck and around my ears but the bits at the sides and from my parting will be straight!

Off to have a look nipers, thanks.

Not sure about pics ... :/

Liking the Alexa idea but not sure, even if my hair could be persuaded, it would work with the really high forehead I forgot to mention earlier. I sound totally hot don't I?!

I think there are many ways to do the relaxed bob look. My hair is wavy and every time it dries it looks different...sometimes I straighten it but often it just gets the shake and leave treatment with maybe a Kirby grip to tame the fringe if it has dried in an unusual way. I love my hair now, a bit of lippy on and I feel the relaxed cool vibe.
