I'm often too tired to wash my face at night. What's the bare minimum I need to do?

I'd say the bare minimum is to wash it I'm afraid.

On lazy nights I find Soap and Glory's Peaches and Clean face wash effective. Rub it all over and remove with warm water and a face cloth - Tesco do five microfibre cloths for about £1.25 in their cleaning aisle. Takes two minutes.

Agree. Bare minimum is to wash face. If I'm having a lazy one I'll remove make up with wipes. Then face wash and rinse with hot water.

Sometimes I am so tired I just brush my teeth and hop into bed. I keep some cottonwool ovals and a cleanser beside the bed and give my face a quick cleanse before I nod off. At the moment I have a bottle of loreal micellar solution which was half price in Boots. I find it excellent its like a toner except no smell and no stinging.

I find the Johnson's wipes useful.

The other day I accidentally used a pampers wipe.

DH kissed me and said disgustedly …I smelled of a baby's bum !

It worked the same. and is cheaper!

Wash your face earlier in the evening, then when bedtime comes you won't need to do anything Smile

I keep meaning to do this as the act of washing my face seems to wake me up a bit and delays sleep even when really tired.

sotiredfornow · 01/02/2014 19:22

Exactly as Minshu suggested. I'm too tired and too lazy come bedtime at the mo having run around all day with young DC. Instead I've been taking my contacts out and washing my face properly around 6 during bathtime. DH is far too engrossed in food, tele, whatever else to notice that I have no makeup on and we keep the lighting low in the lounge during the evening so I shouldn't be too scary to look at Wink

Another one suggesting you wash your face earlier in the evening.

Cleansing is the most important step if you want a nice complexion. Personally I find my evening skincare routine really relaxing, I only fall into bed with makeup on if it's very late and I'm very drunk. And even then I wake up cursing myself.

Cleanse earlier, and then just sweep face with some toner before bed.
I use Anne French and witch hazel (on a damp cotton wool round) as a toner, my skin has never been so good.
