Bare minerals for "winters"

Was wondering what shade you use in the original foundation please? I have very dark hair and eyes but pale skin, possibly olive, have various shades but they are either too pink or yellow. Want to stick with the minerals but having spoke to several ladies on the counters they tell me I can wear several shades and all want to warm my skin up, I was also told to avoid pink blushers. I don't want to be bronzed.

Of course I might not even be a winter but those colours seem to suit me. Kosher bacon, I think I sound similar to you, would you care you share your foundation and blusher shades please?

My friend who has tested a lot of mineral makeup from various sources recommends LaurEss. You can setthe search criterion to 'olive' and they do samples.

I used 'fairly light' in BM - hated the waxiness of the foundation and threw it out after a month but the colour was a good match!!

I have your colouring OP.

I kept being recommended medium beige - way off!

Fairly light and I love it!

I found the same thing as you OP, all the Bare Minerals shades are too pink, too yellow and basically all too dark for me. I'm a winter and very pale with an equal mix of pink and yellow undertones I think. You could try mixing two shades?

Thanks for the quick replies, yesterday I went in wanting to try the fairly light but the lady disagreed and put fairly medium on me with a peachy blush, had to stop her putting on the bronzer, when I got outside I could tell it was way too dark, should have known as her makeup was too orange and the counter only opened just before Xmas and she said she worked on Clinique before so isn't experienced in bare minerals, I wonder what training they do get.

I do have medium-too pink, medium beige-not quite right, golden medium- way too dark and yellow. And light which is too yellow still. I might order the fairly light.

Today I'm just wearing concealer under my eyes as I'm very discoloured there, and I actually look much better colour wise, I do have a few scars so wouldn't leave the house like this.

So do I need a pink blush?

Don't ask the advice of make up counter people when buying foundation. Buy whichever one is invisible once you've blended it into your jaw line. The most recent time I let one 'match' me to a foundation, she picked medium beige 'because I have dark hair and eyes'. Wtf? How is that logical? It was orange, and even she admitted it.

Pink blush is better than peach on cool-toned people, yes.

I'm really pale and use the fairly light foundation. When I put it on I go about medium coverage because otherwise its a bit cakey and a bit to yellowy. The bronzer is nice, it looks really dark in the pot but if you only use a wee bit and blend it in with the mineral vail then it looks nice and just gives you a bit of a glow.

And its also important to blend them on to your neck to just to make sure its all the one colour. Bare minerals is the best make up i've used.

Have you tried Lilly Lolo? They do samples really cheaply so you can get your correct colour and their customer service is excellent.
